Some bugs/problems I've noticed in played games:
1) Play-by-play grounder to first: I think this has been brought up, but I haven't seen this specific pbp anywhere: grounder to 1st, 1B scoops it up, takes it to the bag himself, the throw is in the dirt, 1B scoops it nicely, batter is retired. 2) Game log: In the game log, lineouts get recorded as pop outs and pop out recorded as lineouts. 3) Earned run scoring: Out Batter reaches on throwing error, goes to second. Batter reaches on fielding error, 1st and 3rd Wild pitch, runner on 3rd scores, runner on 1st goes to 2nd Single, runner on 2nd scores Out Out 2 runs, one run is scored as earned. There should be no runs earned as both hitters that scored had reached on errors. Unfortunately, I saw this after the inning had ended so I don't know exactly which run was counted as earned. 4) Sacrifice fly/wild throw: Maybe more philosophical than a bug, but major league scorers do not give throwing errors on runs scoring on fly balls unless there is another runner on base who advances because of the bad throw. If there is only a runner on 3rd, the only time a batter would not get a sac fly and an RBI would be if the catcher dropped the ball, either because he fumbled it or if the runner knocked it out of his glove. OOTP4 (as did OOTP3) scores sac fly wild throws as errors-no RBI, run always unearned. 5) I hadn't seen this before, but in a recent OOTP4 game, I had a hitter strike out, but not get credited with an at-bat or strike out. The pitcher got 1/3 of an inning pitched for the event but did not get credited with a K. The game log recorded the K. The batter struck out twice during the game, and I do not know which strike out was not recorded, but a runner stole a base during one of the strike outs, if this helps. 6) Occasionally, when moving a PH into the field, the green background for the card asking which position you want to move the PH to does not appear. 7) If a computer batter is ejected for arguing a called third strike, the computer inserts a runner to take his place, but often this runner is taken out of the game after the inning ends and is replaced by someone who plays the position. In other words, the computer has wasted a player on its bench because that runner never actually gets into the game. The computer should insert someone who plays the position of the ejected player to play in the game for that player after the ejection. 8) I wanted to second this one: With the infield in, the fielding team often goes for a double play on a ground ball with a runner on 1st and 3rd, or bases loaded. This is OK to happen on occasion, but slower runners should almost always be frozen at 3rd and not allowed to score on the DP attempt, and in any event, fielders should throw home with the bases loaded almost every time. Thanks for any feedback.
