Imported Players Stat Issue

Maybe this is a known issue... but whenever I start a historic league (career mode) the players imported stats are sometimes doubled. Meaning Jack clark had a history before and after 1986. That was my import year. So he has season stats for his actual career and his simulated career. Thus he makes the HOF. Is this just one of those "live with it" issues or is it a bug?

I'm fairly certain that this is a database problem and not a game issue.
