Angry crash problem

Ok I have a registered product for OOTP4. but I have ran into a few problems with the game.

1) The game will crash to the desktop..I went into the troubleshooting and did everything they asked for. Update video drivers, install the latest direct x , changed the monitor resoultion. I even went into the graphics and toggled and played with full screen and 3d. I have played OOTP4 on a few occasions it just hiccups and I can't start the game up.

2) I would get an invalid page fault. I once again went into the troubleshooting and did everything but to no avail.

My computer : 667 Pent3, 64 Ram Monitor 600'ish to something else...

Hi Gino & welcome to the forum.

Sorry, we can't help without further info:

#1 - Has the game ever run for you? What Were you doing in the game when it crashed? Does this happen repeatedly etc... please describe as much about the crash info as you can.

#2 - Ditto above .

Further info required: What operating system are you running and how much free hard drive space do you have?

Also note: Please do not double post the same problem on two boards.

Yes the game has run for me. I played it for a days not longer then maybe two hours on each day. When the game crashed to the desktop I was trying to play the game. I double clicked the icon..it either had the little icon "loading league" or the screen was scrambled and it looked like it would load and crash to the desktop.

I am running with a Windows 98 os, HP 8750c, 667 64 Ram 30 GB HD with 25 Gigs unused..

I really want to play this game alot...but I am afraid I won't be able too

1024x768 <----- is the miniumal screen resoultion but how was I able to run it with the 800X600( it maybe a little bigger I am not at my computer right now)

I adjusted it to fit the 1024 and I wasn't able to alleviate the problem

Some users can run the game at full screen at 800x600, but since some can't that resolution is unsupported.

The scrambled screen is a video problem, but the part I don't get is how you could run the game at all with such a video problem. I suspect the game crashed for some other reason, then the video settings were changed in an attempt to fix the original non-video related crash, and now when you try to start it you get the scrambled screen video error .

The invalid page fault error you described in the previous post is usually caused by the PC not having a recent version of DirectX installed. You can download DirectX updates from Microsoft at www.microsoft.com/directx .

I'd suggest you reinstall direct X to be safe (the invalid page error), set screen res to 1024x768, run the "Graphics Setup.exe" program and disable 3D and fullscreen modes, then try the game again. Get back to us if that does not do it.

Your system is within specs and the game should run fine, we'll get it going yet.

What other programs have you installed since you installed OOTP. Sometimes these programs make changes on things (such as video settings) without notifying you and this is another potential cause for the problem.

Like I said in another forum so far I haven't been able to alleviate the problem. I have searched far and wide for a driver for my HP Pavilion m50 monitor....I hope this can fix the problem....

You need to look for drivers for your video card, not necessarily the monitor.
