First off, I am fiddling around with a solo league starting in 1876. I don't know if this would be applicable to any other leagues, but I noticed this problem.
After deleting players who only played a couple of games in their careers, two of the teams in the league only have 11 players. There is a player for each position however. The computer seems to be ignoring the positions when creating the depth chart and inserting the best player who can play that position in the depth chart. For example, New York's' depth chart is as follows (primary position is listed after the player) C - Bill Craver (2B) 1B - Joe Start (1B) 2B - Jimmy Hallinan (SS) 3B - Al Nichols (3B) SS - Nat Hicks (C) LF - Fred Treacey (LF) CF - Jim Holdsworth (CF) RF - Eddie Booth (RF) The problem is that Nat Hicks is not rated at SS. Craver and Hallinan are the only two players rated at short. Presumably the computer is inserting the players in the order listed. Since there is no one rated at SS when the computer tries to fill the position, Hicks is put in at short since he is the first player on the team roster. I know the work around for this problem is really simple - just unrate Craver at catcher. I just wanted you to be aware that there could be a problem with how the computer sets the depth chart.
