Still getting the OOTP4.EXE error

Playing with 4.0a. Windows ME. 256MB Ram. PIII 850. 31GB HD Space still Available. DirectX 8.

After simming my first season (with creating a new league from Rolen rosters), I can go through the coaching period, and then advance to the free agency period. After I click "finish day" of day 1/30 of free agency, I get the error message and the game must be closed. After reloading, I am still in the end of the coaching signing period, but it says day 6/5, I can then click finish day, but then I get day 7/5, this can go on and on, and I have gone up to day 70/5.

Game does not allow me to advance to the next period from this point , so I can not get back to free agency period.

Had experience this problem before, so I uninstalled v4, and redownloaded it. Problem continues.

Also occasionally have problems when visiting transactions page in this league (before season 1 is over, and before get the aformentioned crash).

Ok, now experiencing more problems.

I uninstalled the game completely, redownloaded and reinstalled. Create a new league (in challenge mode), selected my team, click on a few players in roster screen just to see if the game error occurs. Go to transactions, get the error message again, and have to close the program. I have done this repeatedly and continue getting the error again and again at this same point.

I go in, turn off my anti-virus software (Mcafee), go back in the game, and continue to see the same problem. Go to graphics setup, toggle full screen mode on, go back into the game, load league, click on any page, and game crashes automatically back to desktop (not even an ootp4.exe error). Disabled full screen mode, keep trying to load the created league, but continue to get the .exe message, forcing me to close program.

Even after the new patch came out i am still getting the same problems but i am not using rolens roster. I think it is someting wrong with the Create Folders cause evertime i create a new league it messes up.

Want to play game, me pay money. Please help.

Hit reset season, you'll be able to proceed to opening day, unfortunately you loose free agency and the draft for that season.

You also might want to try downloading the most recent patch. (Version 4.0b)

i got the most recent updeate. It not about getting my season back, i dont care about the season. Its about getting my game to work because everytime i go to create a new season it does it. It work fine when i open the game, i can move around team to team fine looking at everything. As soon as i create a new league frist team i go into the go to transactions i get the OOTP4.EXE error. I want to get it fixed cause i have had then game since march 1st and i cant even start a league because i cant get a season started because it keeps crashing!!!

Definately keep Mcafee and all background progs off to make sure there is no conflict with another app. Mcafee works by monitoring new any changed file sizes and a game like ootp that creates and changes thousands of individual files while you run the game will flip a prog like Mcafee out

. To make sure all background progs are off press the alt+cnt+delete together one time - that will show most of the currently running programs and only systray and explorer (and OOTP4) need to be on.

Since creating files and folders is causing errors it would also be wise to run scan disk as that could be a symptom of disk problems. Also this is obvious but many people ignore it, if you have a repeat crash from an app, reboot your PC before trying a again.

Also make very sure you install all MS updates (Windows Update link - not sure what it is in ME). You are getting errors that I do not think anyone else is getting so it's important to make sure it is not something system related.

I am experiencing similar problems. Everytime I load up a new season, i get a runtime error ootp4.exe abnormal operation. I even get this when I try and exit the game now. I am using a Athlon 900 mhz, 128 ram, 32meg geforece 2 vid card. This is really frusterating, any help would be appreciated.

Does any season load up at all? Is it possible you deleted the last loaded game and the games default "Career 2002.lg" league?

I am not positive what Bangholla's error is exactly, as it sounds like errors on many levels

I even get this when I try and exit the game now. I am using a Athlon 900 mhz, 128 ram, 32meg geforece 2 vid card. This is really frusterating, any help would be appreciated.
