I'm getting the runtime error popup, right after exiting from the pre-game show of a game I'm getting set to play.
I get the same error whether I click to ahead and play the game or click the cancel game button from the pregame screen. There's no obvious reason for it. Both teams look good and 2 games have already been played in the same series. Any ideas? |

...probably not. I was playing my league games last night and I played the first 2 of a 5 game series, and then I tried to start game 3 and ran into the runtime error.
I booted back up again and switched to my solo league and I was able to play 2 games in there without mishap. I'll double check but I should have at least a couple hundred meg free disk. |

OK, I got it. Here's what's happening.
I'm commish of a league where we play home games. I played the first game of my series and then played the 2nd game of the series without doing a fake sim of all the other games on that first day - I say fake-sim because these results are going to be overwritten by the exports I receive from my other league members anyways. Then I tried to do the same thing on game 3 of the series and the game cores if I try to do anything from that point on. The giveaway for me was when I checked my starters pitches thrown from the Pregame Show and they were all messed up 2 (2 days out of date). It looks like the game can't handle advancing to the next day of a season unless all games in the previous day have been played. This is a minor problem for leagues where games are played rather than simmed by a commish. I understand why it's being done but it's so intuitive for a coach only to think about playing his own games it's really easy to fall into the trap of not considering simming the others. So I got around it, by backing up to the beginning of the series and importing the 2 games that I played succesfully and simming all the other ones. Now I hit the bug where the coaches/scouts have disappered on my team and my opponent. This bug has also been reported by one of my league members and also appears by coincidence in the next thread. If you'rehaving trouble nailing this one I can send a league file and 2 exports that reproduce it. Let me know. |
