Post Minor leaguers with CEIs being drafted the next year -- uninjured!

I mentioned elsewhere my sadness that Curly Do, a young minor-league lefty, had suffered a CEI in my league's maiden season, 1901.

I just completed the amateur draft for 1902, and in the fifth (and final) round, Curly was drafted! I went and looked, and sure enough, he's listed as healthy -- and I also checked, and he has the same player ID and biographical information. It's the same guy.

So I tried a different check: the other minor leaguer last season to suffer a CEI was Jim Seals. I went and looked him up using "find player by name" -- and found he's still around, currently listed as a free agent, and, again, quite uninjured.

Both Messrs. Do and Seals did show up in the news log as retiring at the end of 1901, however.

Anyone else notice this? Seems like an eminently squishable bug.

I should add, Seals does show up if you search for him, but does *not* appear in the free agents listing.

Wow, that is very, very odd. I remember back in OOTP3 I had a player retire and show up on my roster before using default roster sets. (It was Mark Grace, and since he was still good, it didn't really bother me.) According to some it sounded like the duplicated player bug, but I didn't think it could be since I was using default OOTP3 rosters.

Not that that had ANYTHING to do with your problem.

But I haven't seen anything like that in OOTP4, although I don't sim historically.
