Can't Open OOTP 6 - Page 2

I guess my next question is can it be fixed by us or will it have to be fixed in a patch?

Hmmm... this is really strange. I did not code something in there to let this .dll register itself. All the elicense related stuff is directly handled by the elicense system which is wrapped around the .exe file. Unfortunately I have no idea how to fix this. I will however contact the ViaTech developer and see if they have a clue.

Did you try downloading the setup file a second time? Have no idea if this would do anything but at this point it probably wouldn't hurt.

Just a thought, I think most (all?) of the occurances of this are happening for people running at 16-bit colour.
Is there likely to be anything in the DirectX initialisation that's expecting greater colour depth?

I'll try downloading the setup file again (from a different mirror if I can remember which one I used) this evening.

Didn't make any difference.

I've also located a Win98SE CD, so I can see if any of the other graphics cards I've got lying around will do 1024x768x24bit

Some time later: None of the other cards can even do 1024x768x16bit, so I can't chek that.

Another couple hours till I can get home and test the new patch to see if it fixes my problem. If anyone else having this problem has tested please let me know if it worked.

The anticipation is killing me.
