Pinch hitting for DH bug
I just installed the latest OOTP6 patch and now whenever I try to pinch hit for my DH it shows the pinch hitter in the line-up but the original DH still at the plate. It also shows the original DH during that at bat. On the following at bat it changes to the pinch hitter. Could someone else try an experiment to see if theirs is doing the same thing? Thanks.
**My solo league is on hold until this is resolved...

Yes, its doing the same thing. Cant hit or pinch run for the DH, and when you try to, your original DH stays in the game but the guy you tried putting in will be unvavailable for the rest of the game.

jbmagic,
you don't have the option to right click and pick "DH" as a position when you pinch hit. i haven't seen markus, steve or anyone else comment on this problem yet. i hope it has been noticed and is being addressed. |

Same problems here with trying to pinch run for the DH. The program would not take out the DH but it would color your pinch runner with the unavailable color for the remainder of the game. Bummer!

There's a bunch of threads on this, so I assume that Markus is now aware of it, but I wanted to add from my experience.
I pinch hit for the DH. The immediate effect is that the original DH shows orange as unavailable and the new DH shows green as in the lineup, but the original DH stays in the game right then - he appears on the screen and in the PBP, and the stats accumulate for him. Next time through the lineup, though, the new DH is there. Note that the change could be due to the lineup turning over or the inning changing - I haven't had a situation like this where I batted around back to the DH slot in the same inning.

Just noticed something new: If you sub for the DH before he's up, the sub will work, even if he comes to the plate that inning.

I decided to try pinch-hitting while the player was in the on-deck circle (originally, I thought it was all players, not just the DH). The leadoff hitter in the inning got on base and then I wanted to use a PH to bunt the runner over. If the leadoff runner hadn't gotten on, I would have left the DH in to swing away. So I couldn't do it until the DH was up. |
