No Money In Offseason

I'm in the offseason after the 2007 season. I have a revenue of just under 150 mil and a payroll of 100 mil. When the free agent period came around it says i have 10 mil in cash, but no money available. Anyone else having this problem???

It really depends on the contract status of all of the players on your roster. Did you release any players that may have increased player expenses? What is your projected payroll in the upcoming season?

My guess is that your projected income isn't enough to cover your current payroll, so the game will not allow you to sign anyone.

then why would it give me money to sign extensions? my profit has gone up each season as my payroll has gone down, it doesnt make any sense.

Well, money available for extensions takes into account the fact that the extension won't be payed out until the next season. Often you'll have more money available for extensions before the season begins since the game assumes you aren't resigning anyone yet, so all of that payroll is not factored into your next season financial position.
