Can't load patch

After I unzip the 6.01 patch I get two files. The read me and an application. The read me works fine. When I open the application I get a black screen. I waited 5 minutes but still a black screen. I have to ctrl alt del to get out of it. I erased the patch and downloaded it again but same problem.

Just wondering...do you have OOTP closed, and are you unzipping the files to your main OOTP6 folder? If not, give that a try.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I have the game closed. Yes, my destination is the main OOTP folder.
Any other thoughts??

Don't really know. There are some other forum members who are much more knowlegable than I, and might be able to help you. You can try to toggle the 3d Display off (in the Game Configuration.exe), and also check to see that you have the latest version of DirectX installed (version 9).

You need to UNZIP the whole patch into the OOTP6 folder and OVERWRITE any old files.
