Why wont it work!!!!

my ootp does not work these are the error messages i get....
CREATE SURFACE:BACKBUFFER
an invalid parameter was passed to the returning function,or the object was not in a stat that permitted the function to be called. this value is equal to the E_INVALIDARG standard COME return value

Go into the “game”(OOTP, ITP, etc) folder and open the "game config" file, toggle the 3d setting, close those things and try the game again.

If that doesn't solve it, go to start then run and type dxdiag and hit enter. The direct X utility will open and it will let you know what version of direct X you are have installed. If it is less than v9 go to http://www.microsoft.com download and install v9, reboot your computer and then try the game again.

One of these two things should get things going. Please let me know if you are still having problems after trying both of these.

thanks steve,it works but now...i can barely read the letters that are on the screen

Set the screen resolution at 1024x768.
