Possible bug in OOTP6

I just bought the game and have been playing with the rosters CBL2.0 The problem I am seeing is when I play a game and select Human for Batting and Substitutions, it does not allow me to do substitutions when I am pitching. This is my preferred way to play cause it is too complex right now to choose pitching and placement.

Is there a fix or did I miss something. It says I downloaded the 6.01 version.

Also when I created a player I tried to put him on the 40 man roster and it ignores me saying that it is full. How can I remove someone from the roster so I can put my created player in the game.
