Crashing when loading OOPT5 league in OOTP6

I have a Historical League and a Custom Fictional league in OOTP5 that I attempted to transfer over to OOTP6. Both leagues are at the end of the season (W.S. was just finished).

When loading these leagues, OOTP6 crashes about mid-way thru the load.

In order to rule out issues with those two leagues specifically, I tried loading the "2003 League.lg" league that is created by default with OOTP5. I've never touched this league in any way. Obviously it has all the managers set to "Computer" and it's at the very beginning of the season. It too also crashes when the league is being loaded in OOTP6. (as is every OOTP5 league I quickly created in order to test this)

If I create an OOTP6 league - loading it presents no difficulties. Searching thru the forum(s) it doesn't appear that anyone else is seeing this. The only thing I have left to try is perhaps I don't have the last OOTP5 patch installed, but that seems an unlikely solution. (will try when I get home tonight)

Sounds and 3D menus are off. DX9.0b is installed. I have tried reinstalling the app.
Machine is a P3 700 w/ 256 mb RAM. Plenty of free HD space.
Running XP Pro, sp1. Screen res is 1024x768.
Haven't had any issues with OOTP3/4/5 on this same machine.

Any further suggestions?

Thank!

Given you are a long-time user I take that by loading you mean converting, not just opening a V5 league in V6, correct?

Well now I feel pretty damn stupid. That is the problem. Somewhere along the line I forgot that I had to specifically "Convert" the league, and I was indeed trying to simply "Open" the older league(s). (it's been a year since I've last done this!)

I appreciate the help/reminder.

Thanks again.
