ERAs too low
I am using OOTP5 with the lahman database, starting with year 1901. I am about at year 1923, and the last few years many pitchers have been posting ERAs of 0.09, 0.03. etc. Incredibly low. One even had an ERA of 0.00. They threw about 250+ innings. The funny thing is they had losing records! Any ideas what is causing this? I recalculate for historical accuracy ever season. These aren't the top pitchers either, the 5 star rating guys. These are guys with 2,or 2 1/2 stars, middle of the road guys.
For example, this past season, the leaders in the national league had ERAs of 0.14, 0.27, and 0.54. |

Ahh the infamous rollover bug...
ootp5 can only track 256 runs per season...after that it "rolls over" to 0....so what you're seeing is pitchers who allowed more than 256 runs, their stats rollover and look ridiculously small...a search of these boards for rollover should bring more info...
