Corruption?

I started up the program and continued a league, and on the main standings page, the league leaders have vanished from either side of the screen, replaced by the league leader categories only, in small, single spaced red font. If I go to the schedule screen, the starting pitchers names have vanished. Any other action result in a crash.

I'm assuming this league is just now corrupted and beyond help - but is there any way around this, or way to prevent this from happening? Are such random corruptions a common occurrence?

I realize I should have backed the league up more often. New leagues appear not to be affected, but this is a real turn off for the game - I remember hearing that this happened all the time in OOTP5.

Thanks.

I've been playing since v4 and have only had one file corrupt, that was in v4. I had no problems at all with v5. I play out all games myself and backup after every 5 games into seperate folders. This probably seems like overkill to some but should something happen the most I lose is one turn through the rotation.

If I was a guy that simmed I would backup once a month. Again some would say overkill but I would at the very least backup at the All Star game and of course at the end of each completed season.

When it comes down to it, it doesn't take that long to do. I just get up and stretch my legs, go to the can, and get something to eat and drink before picking up where I left off.

Some don't think you should have to do this but it is the only way I know to avoid the problem. As with any software I use, if it produces files I can't afford to lose I backup often.
