game locks up changing to career
I just imported the database and when I try to change it to career mode the game locks and I have to hit ctrl-alt-del to exit game. It then puts me back to another league when I reopen the game. The game has worked fine until I tried this.

windows 98,128 ram,13.6 gb hard drive with plenty of space. 1962 season from database. When I try to change to career is when it locks up. I tried changing a different league that was custom back and forth it worked ok. The setup for that was the same as 1962, 2 leagues, 10 teams each custom.

I have a lot more than 1 gig. I have uninstalled a lot of games a month ago that my son no longer played. When I click on the button to change to career, it never changes even after waiting for at least 2-3 minutes and I cannot do anything else in game. I have to hit ctrl-atl-del to exit game. When I go back into the game I am back in my custom league instead of my 1962 league.

Very strange, I would recommend wating a bit longer just as a test. I have a fairly high end PC, run XP and I was surprised that when I tried to change it the game did hesitate a bit. I don't understand why but maybe give it a few more minutes and see if it doesn't allow you switch. I'll be interested to know the results.

Thanks, I just let sit for a while and when I got back it was changed. Begore when I hit ctrl-alt-del it said not responding so I thought it was locked up. By the way I love this game,I played SOM for over 25 years but I am hooked on OOTP now.

Glad to hear it, hope you continue to enjoy it. Just as an additional thought, in most cases when windows thinks that the game is not responding it usually still is it is just at work.
