OOTP should do itself a favor and limit discussions on the boards to leagues and game strategies - let all else email themselves into oblivion.
You would think that the people here "would wish Markus all the best and be 100% behind him". He has always come through and he will this time. He has never let us down and I've been here since 3.2.

This board is beginning to become a carbon copy of SI Games' board and I left there because of the constant trashing of CM 03/04. Which I thought then, and still do, was a great Soccer simulation. But those guys wouldn't cut them any slack.

Here Markus is going to work for the next 18 months for nothing trying to bring out the absolute best Baseball sim ever and these guys want to trash him day and night for a few small problems. Meanwhile, new potential 6 and maybe even version 7 customers will be driven off thinking that OOTP is junk. It's a sad day. I'll be glad when he releases the next patch. Maybe then these attacks will end.

Yes, I was upset at first by the location of the "text commentary" but I only complained once or twice and I sent Markus an email explaining the problem and he responded immediately. "Thanks again, Markus".

Now there's a great idea.

So do we all get a partial refund if that is the case? Kind of like buying a car that's supposed to be "fully loaded" but finding it doesn't have a stereo...and the dealership refuses to provide one. Some legal issues there.

We often have similar 'debates' on the SI forums for identical reasons - I can't speak for Markus (these being his forums), but we retain the SI ones because they are very useful.

Even threads such as the ones recently which can be viewed as 'destructive' are helpful from the fact that they (1) show the passion people feel for the games involved, (2) they bring problems to our attentions (which obviously facilitates them being fixed, if no one mentions them then we might not notice them ourselves and they'd stay in the game).

Hope this helps,

Marc

I think it's very misguided of SI to think that Markus supporting OOTP6 isn't helpful to them.

Seriously, guys, you've got 18 months for v7. The sooner you get OOTP6 fixed up and featureful, the faster this group of people stops spending all their effort complaining and shift to the usual-OOTP-fan behavior of praising the game to high heavens everywhere they go.

You're risking your brand value here.

I don't think that SI feels that OOTP 6 is unimportant to them. Marc has more or less said that he allows Markus to work on issues with OOTP 6. He knows that if people are happy with OOTP 6 they will purchase OOTP 7. Things will get fixed.
