Odd draft

The draft I'm about to select for has roughly 50 5 star prospects and a good number of 3/4 star prospects as well. I've got coaches and scouts off so it's not necessarily a case of my scout smoking crack and evaluating talent at the same time. I did switch the draft from preseason to June 1st, as it never actually ran the draft in the preseason. I guess it added the new draft pool on top of what was already there, but that many five stars makes it look like 10 drafts worth of talent rather than 2 drafts.

I made a backup copy of the league immediately prior to the draft if there's any further info you'd like. It's rather stunning to look at all the studs in the available players report.

Note: If it helps track down the cause, there are an inordinate number of 10/10/10 speed/steal/instincts and the vast majority of players in the draft have 1 for avoid strikeouts.

Note2: I'm not sure if this is a normal percentage, but it also seemed like there were an inordinate number of "prone" rookies. I saw at least 5-6 prone players among the vast numbers of studs, and I can't remember ever seeing prone players in the amateur draft before. Again, this could just be a result of examining the draft pool more closely.

In the end, I picked up 5 star players in each of the first 5 rounds, and a 3 star in the 6th and final round.

A look at the top 100 prospects list gives me only 3 position players in the top 100 not from this draft and only 14 pitchers among the top 100 (of which only 4 appear to not originate from this draft). So 93 of the top 100 prospects in my league came from the draft I just went through. There are also at least 20 3 star plus pitching prospects who went undrafted.

Note3: Now that I think of it, there are a few other factors that would influence the creation that I should mention...
1) I'm using CBL's rosters. I suppose if I had a talent poor league the game may try to compensate for that by injecting talent through the amateur draft.
2) More importantly, I set the creation and development modifiers at 125%. While I expected that to have an impact, if it consistently generates results like this I suppose I definitely need to tone that back down.
