Markus: Capitalization not 100% correct
Marcus if you see this, when I try to import from a custom name database the names aren't always correctly capitaized.
McDonald and O'Neil are coming over correctly. However, names such as DeCamp, DiMaggio, LaPlante, LeFlore, and MacDonald only have the first letter capitalized. The Van's are a completely different story. If I put in Van Arsdale, I never get this name to show up (I even tested with a name file with only Smith and Van Arsdale for names. Everyone was named Smith). VanArsdale imported with only the first letter capitalized. Hopefully this would be a simple fix. I suspect that you have a subroutine in the program that looks for the Mc and O' starting the name that causes the third letter to be capitalized. Otherwise only the first letter is capitalized. Could you possibly change the import program so that if the second letter is lower case, OOTP won't change the case? That way SMITH would become Smith in the game but MacDonald would not change on import. O'Neil would have to check the 4th letter so that O'NEIL and O'Neil would both appear the same in the game. Because OOTP looks for a space to determine the name frequency, I don't know if the space in names such as Van Arsdale would be an easy fix. Could you possibly allow for a substitute for the space in the name (for example - the underscore character)? That way Van_Buren would import as Van Buren. Thanks Edited for spelling errors

Oops - I even knew that his name was spelled different than what I am used to.
Hopefully he knows who I am addressing.

I have been working with Markmeister on this - in fact, I think I tipped him off via PM to this bug - and I would like to hereby verify and support his bug report.
"McDonald" imports as "McDonald" but "MacDonald" imports as "Macdonald" This needs to fixed to make the name files work correctly.

Well, at least it wasn't incorrectly capitalized.

This has been around for a while(I remember seeing this as far back as OOTP4). You had some great suggestions Markmeister so hopefully the fix will make a future patch. Thanks for a constructive and well thought out bug report. It was refreshing as it seems that some posters are incapable of posting anything constructive.

This isn't a game-breaking bug. It's just irritating.
