OOTP6 Messing up computer

I have Win. XP and didn't do anything wrong when installing... before i installed ootp6 nothing bad happened... but now the computer keeps on messing up. I have a router on that computer. Do you think that might be the problem? I've asked other people but no one is haveing any problems... any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

It's really, really unlikely that OOTP could mess your computer up. Most likely there is another cause.

Well the computer keeps on freezing and shutting down automatically. This never happened before i downloaded ootp6...

and it's not a weekly/daily thing. it happens maybe 2 times a day...

Could be a number of PC issues, not related to any programs. Power supply giving out shows itself that way, CPU fan not working could show that way.

Is that PC secure? Do you keep your virus definitions and Windows OS patches current?

i'd suggest running adware, or spybot search and destroy in addition to a virus program. I'd also recommend you go over to www.pcpitstop.com and run their tests. It may be able to help you localize the problem.

That isn't the message that comes up. The connection messes up. In the middle of playing a game in my solo league... the internet disconnects... and in the middle of putting in lineups for an online league... it disconnects. I wouldn't call it a coincidence and i checked and it isn't the blaster worm. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the game. The internet only disconnects while i'm in the middle of using OOTP6. Is there anything i can do to stop this? I don't want to uninstall it. And i have the minimal requirments so I have NO idea why this is happening.

I can understand why you would think it is the game, but I can assure you it isn't. Most of us are connected to the internet while playing the game, and I can't say I ever remember hearing of this issue.

Reinstalling the game would be wise, but only after running virus software and a couple of the adware programs as well. It might also be that with minimal requirements, your running out of memory and the machine is closing things down to compensate... could be a dozen thing with minimum requirements.

Personally, if you really don't want to ee-install, I would simply disconnect from the internet while playing the game.

I would reinstall it... buit what would happen to my leagues? My solo league i have blalock/pedro/thome/kearns(5 HRs in 7 games) and i'm the phils... wouldn't want to lose that! :-D Is there a way i could save my leagues and put them back into the game after reinstalling?

Sure. FInd the league folder ("leaguename.lg") and copy it to another locations - then copy it back when your done.

Just move them to a location you will remember, reinstall the game and copy them over.
