Locking XP hangs OOTP6

Description:
OOTP6 does not redraw its client area after unlocking XP.

Repro:
* Start OOTP6
* Lock the system (Windows Logo key + L)
* Unlock the system
* OOTP6 never redraws its client area. I've let the system sit for 20+ minutes.

Notes:
* This also occured with OOTP4

System Info:
System info is in attached zip file.

Please let me know if you have trouble reproing this.

Thanks
Dan

This does not surprise me, there are some programs(OOTP being one of them) that do not work w/ screensavers, monitor sleeping, system locking. Simple solution is to close the program when you need to do this, don't know that this is an issue that will be addressed....many more pressing issues.

What's the purpose of "locking the system"?!?

I've never even heard of this before.

See details in this thread from last year when this same issue was raised. Various scenarios will cause it. Note that you can do a normal "exit" from OOTP when this occurs, but you have to do it blindly.

It's an XP security feature. A lot of the work I do concerns proprietary information. When it's locked only I can unlock it so I don't have to worry about anyone prying.

Steve,

Two questions:
1) Is it possible that OOTP is not receiving the WM_WTSSESSION_CHANGE message so it doesn't know that it needs to redraw its UI when a system is unlocked? Details of handling this are here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...orkstation.asp

2) Is this on somebody's radar for the future? I know that you have limited resources, but it would be nice to know that this may get investigated in the future.
