Bug with RHB's and switch hitters in the game screen

I don't know if this has been reported or not, and I don't know if this has any significance on the performance of the players or not either.

I play all of my games out and I noticed at the bottom of the screen, the computer was recognizing the wrong type of hitter for some of the hitters. In the area where it says "AT BAT RHB name." Some of the batters that should be left handed are being recorded on the screen as a RHB. Same with some switch hitters are only being recognized as RHB's against RHP's. I am playing with Ankit career database, and I checked the player card to make sure that the batter's information was correct. For example, I am playing with the 1982 Braves and I noticed that Chris Chambliss is listed as a RHB. Not true. This has happened with multiple batters.

The question is "Is this just a cosmetic feature on the bottom of the screen?" or "Is the computer 'seeing' these batters as RHB's and therefore their performance against RHP's and LHP's may be affected?"

This looked familiar. It took a few searches, but I found where I had heard of this before - this thread. It seems the game is recognizing things correctly for figuring out what happens, it's just a play-by-play bug saying the wrong thing.

I think (and I haven't done enough research to confirm this) that the program might be showing the players' throwing arms in that screen instead of their batting stance.

That is correct.

Okay, it is showing the throwing arms of the batters. My question is:

Does this have some type of affect on the L/R splits? In other words, does the game engine "view" these batters as RHB's?

Do you have the player boxes setup on the stadium pic with the LH & RH batters in different spots to test it? The thread I linked above had someone mentioning the game was putting the batters in the spot that was correct for their batting handedness even if the play-by-play was apparently making the mistake of reporting the throwing rather than batting handedness. If that was the case I would conclude that for computation purposes the games was viewing the batters with the proper handedness and that the bug was limited to the play-by-play text.
