Help!!
I downloaded OOTP6 the other day. It's my first experience with the game in any version. I need some help. First of all, is there a "help" file somewhere in the game I'm not finding? Or are we just suppossed to figure everything out as we go. I've done pretty well with that but I'm stymied on the photos. How does one load photos in and then how does one assign those photos to the right player? And finally, am I right in assuming I have to buy Microsoft Access in order to use lahman 51? If so, I can only say "ouch." Thanks.

This forum will give you alot of answers:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...?s=&forumid=15 A manual is being worked on and will be released when done. http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/ootp5manual.zip v5 manusl is here which may help. No, you do not need Access as the access version WILL NOT work with the game. |

I get the photo explanation. Nothing else worked. The 5 manual is blank when I download it. And lahman51 is telling me I need Microsoft Access to use it. I went through your steps exactly only to have it tell me that it couldn't find the database even though I had the data base clearly targeted. What's going on?

the v5 manual is a pdf file... you'll need Adobe Reader to view it (you can download the reader free from the Adobe website).

Not sure what you mean by "nothingelse worked"? Could you be more specific? As stated above the game will not be able to use the "access" version, only the generic or comma delimited. Go to http://www.adobe.com for the program to read the manual it is a free d/l.

Things are looking up
I dumped the Access version of the data base and loaded the comma version. It's working fine now. Thanks to everyone who pitched in on that one. As far as the manual goes, I do have adobe and yet I'm still getting nothing but a blank page when I try to open it. I'm not too worried about it though at this point because Christy Mathewson just threw a shutout to start the 1908 season. I think I've got the game pretty much figured out. Thanks again. I've very impressed with the quality of the support. By the way, I'm not having any serious crashing problems at this point. (Knocking on wood.) It did freeze up once but AOL does that to me twice a day.
