2 players same name allowed to play in starting lineup!

I had a problem in a sim last night where the same player was in the lineup twice, batting 2nd and 6th. The export caused the sim to freeze up so I went in after rebooting and changed one of the positions to 2B. This allowed the sim to proceed and the guy to bat twice. Originally I thought there were two SS's in the lineup, so I didn't look at the player name(s), just changed it to 2B.

Either way the sim should not allow it.

I'm confused. Are there two different players with the same name (which I've seen), or the one player placed into two spots in the lineup (which would be a problem)?

sorry I confused myself, same player in the lineup twice, but I changed one of the postions from SS to 2B which allowed the sim to carry on. So the same guy hit twice playing two different positions in the same game.
