contract extension negotiation
Steve and Henry,
I don't know how much detail you need, but the "bug" where we have to offer a little more to a player's request is extremely common for me. It seems to happen to me on two different occasions: 1) I want to sign a player to a contract extension, and it's a "what's your offer request" that I get nowhere with. Later in the year, suddenly there's a price tag there....if I offer what they ask (money and years), it's either not enough money or not enough years, and I either have made them too angry to sign, or I offer $10,000 more and they take it. I've had both results 2) I try to sign a released player during the season who's a free agent. I almost always have to give them $10,000 more to get them, too. The $10,000 figure isn't scientific...it's just the number i started using. |

Thanks for the details, as I mentioned in the other thread it seems to me that this must be a difficult issue to nail down completely. I will bring this up again as well as look into it more myself.
Can you tell me the type(s) of leagues you've had it happen with as it maybe limited to a particular type though not sure - but every little detail helps. |

It's a fictional league that began with "real rosters"....I'm nearly two decades into the league now, and I'm fairly certain this has happened all through version 6. I'm rather trained to add the extra $10,000 in at this point.
I haven't played any other way...I did switch on "manager mode" a few years into it, but it was already doing the same thing. |

Same thing happens here with every single contract I offer to free agents. I have to add another 1,000 dollars at least above what they are asking for.
