Problem with a re-play season!?

I am new to OOTP (I love the game so far) and I am having a small problem that I need an answer on....Please. I have just downloaded the 1970 season and I am going to replay from that season on to the present. My problem is: When you go to the Rosters Screen I have click on "Controlled by Human Manager" set. But, on "Run Computer Manager On Entire Team" will not change. I want to do the drafts for my team, not the computer. When I click on this is DOES
NOT CHANGE. How do I change this? I want to basically be the GM starting with after the 1970 season but the computer will be the manager but I will make the decisions. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for the help.

"Run Computer Manager On Entire Team" is a command button; clicking on it runs the AI throughout the organization, one time, moving players to "appropriate" minor league levels, setting lineups and rotations and depth charts, and so on.

"Controlled by Human Manager" is a toggle button; if you see this, then you have control over your organization, and clicking on it changes the team to computer control.

I agree that it's confusing; it would be better, IMHO, if it looked like other toggles, such as:

(Controlled By) Human Manager
^^^^^^^^
button

Hope this helps...

Thank you.

I started the league with controlled by human manager as I wanted to make all the decisions from 1970 to the present, but as soon as the World Series was over it went through the off-season and the draft with the computer making all the decisions plus the spring season before it handed the controls back to me.
I was wanting to make all the draft choices for my team but the AI would not let me. So I have re-started the league again but I wanted to ask for some help before I started the season. How can I be the one to make the draft choices, and not the AI?

Thank you again.

Don't select the option to have the player placed on original teams when you "import the rookies". Make sure you read carefully the screen prompts.

Yea, I didn't. I wnat rookies to play on other teams after 1970. The one thing that I did do was sim the entire season instead of maybe month-to-month. If you sim an entire season, will it also sim the draft too? I want the computer to sim the season but I want to do the draft and off-season.

If you follow the prompts you can do what you want.

I thought I had everything correct. Had it in human manager so I could control the team and then I simed the entire season and after the Super Bowl it went right into the off-season and did the draft its self and I got control back for the first game of the 1971 season. I wanted to control the draft after the 1970 season but I had no chance to do so. In fact, I didn't see any prompts. What did I miss? I thought I had the season set up correct.

Don't use "sim X number of seasons". Sim to the end of the season, then proceed to next then do what you want.

Thank you very much. After it simmed the draft I went back to start all over again and before I re-started the 1970 season I wanted to ask someone. This afternoon when I was going thru this I thought to myself that I justed needed to sim to the end of the season. Thank you very much. Heading home to try it.
