Bugs should be acknowledged. Or at least keep a thread that lists KNOWN issues.

Amen. Otherwise, there is no difference (forum/thread wise) between a issue that is known and/or being worked on, and a report that is deemed inaccurate/unimportant (such as needing the ability to put 40-man minor leaguers on the 60-day DL).

IMHO, not knowing what bugs OOTPD/Markus are aware of also leads to more "OOTP6 will never be fixed because OOTP7 is the priority" posts.

EDIT: [Deleted for a new post instead.]

Wow, that only took 6 posts by me and unknown number by others. I've seen you post replies to alot of things alot less important that this problem, what concerns me is that only now you reply, and I understand your tone, since I did lash out a bit, and no nobody expects you to post on every topic every time, however if you read any of those other posts (since you say you did) is is too much to ask that after the second or third somebody says. "I don't have a solution on this but it was reported and is being looked at" ??????? As far as I could tell, nobdy was responding to this, it sure had the feel of a "if we ignore it it will go away" kind of thing. If that is not the case then i am sorry. But how could anybody know it was being looked at????

One other point... as illustrated by this post regarding waivers and playoff rosters, there is a difference between an issue being known by the community and being known by Markus (who's the only one who can do something about it).

So, please Markus, tell us whether or not this will be fixed. That's really all we're asking, and it's not as if this is a MINOR issue.

I don't think it's realistic to assume that Markus is going to respond personally in every bug report. When it's reported as being a known issue, you can rest assured that the information is available to Markus in one form or another.

I didn't see this work around mentioned, but the easiest way to conduct trades after the deadline is to export the rosters using the csv roster export in the league menu. Open the rosters in a spreadsheet application (I use Excel), cut the players' IDs and Names from the current team they're on, insert under the new team. Save as a csv file and import back into OOTP6.

The players will be in the minor leagues on their new teams (in A).

If you want to "announce" the trade, open your league transaction text file and make an entry for the trade. Same on the individual player's history.

The whole process will be done in 5-10 minutes or less depending on your proficiency.

The main drawback to this method for online leagues is that all players get dumped into the minors when you do a CSV export/import.

true (and I did mention that in my original post), but teams generally need to make transactions and redo their lineups after trades, so I don't think this method will result in too much added work for the GMs involved.

All things considered, using the csv export/import is probably the easiest and most efficient workaround until waiver-trading works right (or a toggle is given to disable the trade deadline).

In v5 all we do is

1. Turn off financials.
2. Dump the waived player.
3. Sign player as FA to new team
4. Turn on financials
5. Fix contract

Can you not do this in v6?!? If not, I guess my league is further away from v6 then even I thought.

Its stilly and stupid that I have to do all that, as stated, I wish they would just let the commish transfer players whenever and however.

You can still do it this way in v6.

Phew...all that import/export stuff just to trade a player after the deadline would be insane IMHO.

Thanks to all that are posting work arounds. I'm still waiting for someone from OOTP to post something useful on this. I don't understand teh way this subject is being treated by the OOTP staff, somethings not right about it all. From a company that is know for it's dedication to user imput the way they are still hiding from this issue leads me to believe that A. They can't/won't be fixing it B. Are to focused on other things and other versions.
Steve's reply in this thread took me by surprise, and the fact that is his only comment on the matter really takes me by surprise. This is not some little thing, this is a major selling point of the game (the waiver system) NOT WORKING

There is no hiding going on. Steve simply doesn't know when or whether or not it will be fixed.
