IMHO, not knowing what bugs OOTPD/Markus are aware of also leads to more "OOTP6 will never be fixed because OOTP7 is the priority" posts. EDIT: [Deleted for a new post instead.]

One other point... as illustrated by this post regarding waivers and playoff rosters, there is a difference between an issue being known by the community and being known by Markus (who's the only one who can do something about it).

So, please Markus, tell us whether or not this will be fixed. That's really all we're asking, and it's not as if this is a MINOR issue.

I don't think it's realistic to assume that Markus is going to respond personally in every bug report. When it's reported as being a known issue, you can rest assured that the information is available to Markus in one form or another.

I didn't see this work around mentioned, but the easiest way to conduct trades after the deadline is to export the rosters using the csv roster export in the league menu. Open the rosters in a spreadsheet application (I use Excel), cut the players' IDs and Names from the current team they're on, insert under the new team. Save as a csv file and import back into OOTP6.
The players will be in the minor leagues on their new teams (in A). If you want to "announce" the trade, open your league transaction text file and make an entry for the trade. Same on the individual player's history. The whole process will be done in 5-10 minutes or less depending on your proficiency.

All things considered, using the csv export/import is probably the easiest and most efficient workaround until waiver-trading works right (or a toggle is given to disable the trade deadline).

In v5 all we do is
1. Turn off financials. 2. Dump the waived player. 3. Sign player as FA to new team 4. Turn on financials 5. Fix contract Can you not do this in v6?!? If not, I guess my league is further away from v6 then even I thought. Its stilly and stupid that I have to do all that, as stated, I wish they would just let the commish transfer players whenever and however. |

Thanks to all that are posting work arounds. I'm still waiting for someone from OOTP to post something useful on this. I don't understand teh way this subject is being treated by the OOTP staff, somethings not right about it all. From a company that is know for it's dedication to user imput the way they are still hiding from this issue leads me to believe that A. They can't/won't be fixing it B. Are to focused on other things and other versions.
Steve's reply in this thread took me by surprise, and the fact that is his only comment on the matter really takes me by surprise. This is not some little thing, this is a major selling point of the game (the waiver system) NOT WORKING
