No past almanacs in restored league?
I restored a league, then continued play from that point. After a few seasons finished, I went back to see how those seasons went, and found that the almanacs from the restored data wasn't there. i.e. I simmed 1901-1920, backed up the league, simmed 1921, restored to 1901-1920 completion, simmed 1921-1938, went to the almanac, and the only season almanacs that were there were from 1921-1938.
What happened to 1901-1920?

hmm... interesting. Thanks.
a side note: after I realized I'd be starting over, and after simming through 1945, I hit 'reset league'. To my surprise, it reset to 1921, despite the fact that I started in 1901. I did, however, restore to 1921. Also, the almanacs from 1921-1945 were still there, but the sim date was 1921.

Yes, you should really never use the backup/restore feature in the game. It's much more reliable to simply zip up your league as Steve has suggested. That way you can be sure that the league will be exactly as you have left it.

since I'm storing it locally, it doesn't really matter to me what size it is. If I were to upload it, then yes, it would be pared down considerably, as you described.
