NHL Introduce 2 New Teams Dynasty [Toronto Ontario Huskies]

The National Hockey Leagues proud to announce two new teams to the Western Conference!
After long bidding wars between many cities only two could come out on top. The first team will be... The Barrie Ontario Dingoes and The Toronto Ontario Huskies! The National Hockey League agreed on bringing more Canadian Teams to the table and that they did. Having two Toronto teams will bring a great market and an even better rivalry.

The Owner of the Toronto Huskies is: 47yr old Derian Murray has bought the franchise.
The General Manager has already been assigned: 28yr old Terence Baker will be the face of the team. He's also noted that he would also like to be the coach of the team for at the least 1 yr.
The owner has shown his support and has agreed to have a trial run to see how things go.

After what really can be considered a up and down season, the Toronto Huskies have sneaked into the post season. GM Terence Baker was asked was he worried and his reply was "Not at all"

and adding "Personally when the team got created we expected to be in rebuilding for a long time to come. We made a few big moves when we could and the team it self came together." The Toronto Huskies were in 10th place 64 games into the season.

The team pushed through what seemed to be expected a missed post season and clinched the 8th and final spot into the post season after winning their second last game of the season.

I totally agree with you guys on assuming or asking what you're saying.

I personally wasn't expecting anything from this season which is why I went after talent with a high potential rating.

The settings that I changed were simply the injury factors.

I moved the 1.25 of the standard starting to .6 during games and .3 at practices.

I also knocked trading down to 10 from the 25.

From there the luck hit.

The team as you can notice hit a strong start of the season and then in my next two snits through the season were lucky to with 2 games in the 15 games played from 11 games into the season

and then we had another 15 games where we only won 5 games. from that point the team by end of December were in 11th place in the conference.

So thinking I was completely out of it, I traded away most of my 2017 draft picks, a few players and a lot of my 2016 draft picks to acquire a struggling Johan Franzen had I believe 6 points or something in 27 games with the Detroit Red Wings. Red Wings had him on the block so I traded S.Gionta, E. Condra and a 4th Rd pick for Franzen.

I suppose that lit him up as he played 52 games with the Huskies and contributed 27G and 13A (40 Pts) on a floating first/second *Mostly/ third line. I also wanted him to be a leader in the dressing room to give Mike Richards and Downie some support.

Next signing was William Nylander

He had played 34 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs and put up some terrible numbers posting a 2G and 2A (4PTS). I figured the way my team was going and what I was expecting I could take him on and build him up in the next few years.
Seems like the trade paid off as I picked him up and Matt Frattin (had 2G in 31 Games with the Leafs) for my Kyle Brodziak (7pts in 33 games) and a 2nd rd pick in 2017
Matt Frattin stayed in our AHL team, while I kept William up with the NHL squad and seemed to give him motivation. He played 49 games with us floated around the 2nd and 4th line throughout the season and finished with 7G and 14A (25pts)
Seems pretty average, but when we hit the playoffs something special happened he played all 26 games and finished with 8G and 11A (19pts)

Next we had Dylan Larkin.
As we know this kid in real life could be the player the Detroit Red Wings build around. In this sim, I wanted to do that for the Huskies. So I ended up trading quite a bit for him. A first rd pick in 2017, second rd pick in 2017 and Jarret Stoll (10pts in 33 games).
They took it which didn't surprise me as they were pretty bare in the Center department due to injuries or trades (didn't look to much into it) and Larkin had only 10pts in 27games with the Red Wings *Not bad, but not what the hype was about*

He came and played 53 games for the Huskies and ended well with 5G and 29A (34pts) playing on the first/second line for us.
Playoffs he played all 26 games and ended the cup run with 7G and 17A (24pts) where he played 23 games on the first line (after we went down 3-0 to LA I just did it to let him have ice time) and placed him inbetween Franzen and Tyler Toffoli

Lastly Tyler Toffoli. My major signing start that I really wanted to build around for this team which ended up having a huge impact when placed with the above guys in the playoffs.

Toffoli was playing alright for what LA expected for him (34GP 6G 10A 16pts), but ended up trading him to us for a 1st pick in 2018, 3rd rd pick in 2017 and Nick Spaling. Some may said we gave up too much, some may say we didn't give up enough. I personally think we gave a lot into this considering we were tossing picks away like nothing.

Anyway you look at it, I found my first line when I needed it most.
Tyler Toffoli played mainly on the first line, sometimes on the second line for us through the rest of the season.he played 34 games and ended the season with 24G and 22A (46pts) which I didn't see that coming at all.

He then scored some key goals in the playoffs to help us win the cup.
he played all 26 games all on the first line and picked up 9G and 13A (22pts) for us.

In conclusion:

Yes I believe this team had a lot of late career talent for us, which is what I was expect to play around with. Watching the playoffs sim through each game was nuts. I don't think I had ever got so excited with FHM1 or FHM2 since this career began. I haven't personally haven't wanted to stop since. The season was a up and down, spiraling mess into some close last few minute finals, the playoffs went 6-7 games when it could have been anyone's game. I simply became a huge fan of the engine for this season just from how exciting my season complete season went.

That being said, the format you seen above began out simply going to be a quick draft of how things went, seeing as I really did figure that the first 3 seasons at least wouldn't be worth writing about, but I was completely proven wrong.This season of the game had to be as exciting as real life hockey is if not more exciting how the games went.

I am sorry if you don't think I played this season fairly, or you think the trades I made aren't good enough for your standard or you think I cheated.

But for me to write these last few posts to detail and how my experience of the season went along with agreeing 100% of not seeing any of this coming is what I expect you to understand and believe.

I love this game as much as everyone else. I had some dark moments there with crashing my first two dynasty's and stopped playing completely for a bit there. But doing this season was a huge up rising and was entertained throughout it.

I hope you all still read regardless what you're thinking.
I can tell you right now, I did nothing to cheat this system. I simply simmed through the games like you're suppose to and was as surprised at the end of the season as you all.

We had no players expected to be leaders, we had no chance through the predictions of even making the playoffs and when we sneaked in there we weren't even mentioned in the predictions let alone expected to make it past the first round against the Kings.


Anyways I have maybe wrote enough for a small book. Hope with all this and such you continue to read and enjoy the report as I enjoyed the season and future seasons. Thank you.

The Toronto Huskies Hockey Seasons has ended and the first offseason has begun only a few days after being a cinderela story and winning the Stanley Cup.

The team has roughly 19M of salary space left.

GM/Coach Terence Baker and Owner Derian Murray aren't planning on making to many moves this offseason. They wouldn't mind making a move for a veteran defenceman to join the team. But mostly the teams look to add more talent to have to build for the future. Should be interesting whom they sign. The few veterans they'd be looking at are:

Keith Yandle (NYR): Yandle played all 82 games of the season for the Rangers and recorded 7G, 24A for 31pts had 22 pentalty mins and was a +6.
Yandle is known for being a pretty clean player, very good stamina, outstanding skater and great work ethic. His strongest part of his game is his playmaking ability.

The weakest part of his game is his physical play.
Even the worst aspects of Yandle's game are still relatively strong.

The 29yr old Veteran Dman is an unrestricted FA after deciding not to return with the Rangers and test the market.

The Huskies GM/Coach has shown lots of interest in adding Yandle to the group to help give his young guys someone to look up to.

Luke Schenn: Schenn also played all 82 games of the season and all of them were with the Philadelphia Flyers. He had 8G 20A for 28pts. He was a +8 and had 44 penalty mins.

Schenn would bring that agressive and defensive play to the Huskies. The strongest part of his game happens to be his defensive play. He is very strong, has strong hockey sense and anticipation for the play and has good stamina.

His temper sometimes gets the better of him though and his weakest part of his play is his goalscoring ability. He is also known for logging in alot of time being injuried.

Luke Schenn is 26yrs of age and still has a lot of hockey left in him. He is an unresticted FA after Philly decided to let him go.

Owner Derian Murray would love to add Schenn for his size and strength but feels he maybe signing a player that will see more time off the ice then on the ice. That being said though, if Schenn can find a way to stay health and work on his temper, he could bring a lot to the huskies.

The 21yr old played for the Seattle Thunderbirds recording
66GP 22G 26A for 48PTS and averaging 13:29 in ice time a game.

The contract is reportly worth 925,000 a year.
The 20yr old played for the Sarnia Sting and recording

24yr old LW/RW Beau Bennett accepts a 2yr 725,000 a year contract with the Huskies.
Bennett played in 78 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins recording 10 Goals and 24 Assists for 34pts. He had a +5 rating and averaged 14:57 minutes a game.

The Huskies got rejected by Schenn and Yordle so they've gone and agreed on terms with veteran LD Alex Goligoski on a 3yr 2.17M a year contract.
The 30yr old played 79 Games with the Dallas Stars posting 8G 25A for 33PTS. He was a +7 and averaged 21:09 minutes of ice time.

No playoffs for the Toronto Huskies this year. The Huskies came into this year with the same group as last year, with acouple fill ins and the addition of Keith Yandle near the trade deadline seemed to give the team a fighting chance.

Many have questioned the play of Andrew Hammond this season compared to last season. The goalie last season split the season with John Gibson (Whom ended up heading back to the Anahiem Ducks at the end of the season when the Huskies signed goalie Peter Budaj). Andrew had a decent year with 7 Shutouts last season and a 2.25GAA and SV% .922. Hammonds an Unrestricted FA this year and questions about the Huskies feeling out the pool of goalies to replace him have been circling.

Many fingers are also being pointed at captain Mike Richards. Richards went from last seasons 20G 33A 53PTS to a career low 2G 16A 18PTS. Mike Richards will also be a free agent if not signed by July 1st.

GM/Coach Terence Baker has made it clear that the team will do whats best for the team.

Tyler Toffoli and Dylan Larkin were the two stars of the team.
Larkin had a career high in all spots of his game. He finished the season with 71 points (19G 52A) and lead the team with points and assists.

Toffoli had his best season in his career hitting the all mighty 40G season.
He lead the team in goals and was 2nd in the teams point lead (68).
Terence Baker made it clear he wanted to keep toffoli and did so by renewing him with another 3 years and 4.16M per season.
