On Ice graphics and coaching

I'm glad to see some kind of on-ice graphic. I'm a fan of the old old Gretz Hockey, Bethesda product, and so I always love to see a representation of some on ice action.

Someday, please, little icons of guys with sticks, or even little dots roaming the ice. It doesn't have to be EA Hockey. And since I'm on about it and off topic, let me do active coaching on the fly (again see the ancient Gretz Hockey for an example. It was brilliant).

I'm with Jag on that. One feature of FHM 2014 that I did appreciate was pictures of players on the ice and then would change with line changes. Dots on EHM were often ridiculed but I love to see the action happening on the ice.

Bear in mind the live 2D view in EHM took Riz most of a year to code, when he was working fulltime on it and had all of SI's resources behind him. That's a very expensive thing to do in terms of how to spend coding time, and we're not likely to go in that direction soon when there are still a lot of other ways we could improve the game experience.

We can look at adding a making the display a little more graphically interesting, but showing individual locations of players at all times isn't really possible with this game engine - it just doesn't track them that precisely, relying more on where they're supposed to be, how likely they are to actually be there, and whether or not that puts them in a position to be relevant to the current play.

Quite understandable for the 2D view being expensive to code JeffR, but one of the feature in FHM 2014 I appreciated was pictures of the players that were on the ice real time (offensive line, defence pair and goalie). This would be great and with facegen even better! There is some spare room in the game play screen were they could fit nicely.Thanks and keep up great work.

Graphics

I searched and read the posts here that stemmed back to 2014. I completely understand the coding that goes into these types of games and 1000% appreciate the efforts you guys do to get us something that is realistic.

However, I think there are a lot of people that have purchased the game to see you guys go into some sort of graphical representation. Many of the manager titles your particular game is associated with currently have graphical representation. We have motorsport, which actually shows that race cars speeding around the track. We have Soccer, which has the players on the field acting out what the statistical representation is actually doing. Hockey is a kind of sport, as a Manager, would love to actually see how the players are playing so I can make my decisions as I watch them play. Watching dots move back and forth on the screen without any visual other than that, makes the hockey manager so...let me say...boring. Hockey is my #1 sport...I play, and coach. I love it. I would venture to say, with graphics, you may get a casual fan to even buy the game because they can actually watch the decisions they have made, pan out. I have to believe that there is a strong enough following with the National Hockey League now, that we can compete with the NASCAR and Soccer titles. I remember the earlier versions of this game which did have stick figures and sticks in their hands that did make it a little more interesting. There has to be a way to get this incorporated, somehow. Maybe do some sort of campaign that gets community feedback so the financial backers will see what kind of support you would have for it. Either way, FHM is the only hockey manager out there. We have no choice if we want a manager, but to buy this game. That alone is enough to corner the marketplace...and I would venture to say more would buy it if there was a way they could watch their management choices actually play out in a more robust way. Thanks for listening!

In manager - replay game i really dont' care about graphic representation ( i don't use it at all in OOTP and i like a lot FOF) at exception of ..... hockey.

I think that 2D view in EHM is wonderful;
understand different FHM development necessity,
but hope in future to see some similar stuff in this game.
