Can't Start Historical Game
Whenever I try to start up a Historical Sandbox Game, as soon as I press "OK" after adjusting all the settings, I get the colourful spinning wheel (Mac), and the game freezes. If I left click on the icon, it says "Application Not Responding", and I'm forced to "Force Quit".

My first guess would be some kind of corruption in your historical start files. Easiest thing to try would be re-installing the last update (or, if it's on Steam, right-click on the game and Properties-Local Files-Verify Integrity of Game Cache). If that doesn't work, give me all the details of the game you're trying to start - year, settings, etc.

That seems to have done the trick, thanks Jeff!

I have the same problem (Mac), I have uninstalled and re-installed the game, I did what JeffR you suggested above but still the game freezes. What can I do?

OK, let's see if the contents of your historical start files look as they should. You can find them by opening the game, then going to Settings, then Troubleshooting, and clicking on "Open customizable data folder." That'll open Finder in your main game folder. Then go into quickstart_games and then historical.quick and take a screenshot of the contents of that folder, with the file sizes visible, and post it here (don't worry about the graphics folder, I just want to compare the .dat files and their sizes to the ones in a working installation.)
