I traded for a draft pick but never got him

I hope I get this one right. This is the latest version of the game and I'm playing in the NHL and am into the 1963 draft after finishing the 1962 season.

During the 1962 season I made a few trades that got me draft picks, or at least that's what I was told. When the 1963 draft comes along, I don't have those draft picks. They remain with their original team.

Is this a bug, my insanity, something not in the game yet, or what?

I guess I won't trade for draft picks again if I can't have them.

Please let me know what it is, if possible.

Draft picks seem to be a little off at this point as in the 2012-13 season I drafted players and then 4 or 5 of them randomly became 13 to 14 year olds with different names. So it seems to be a bug of some sort.

Also, in historical mode I have noticed that I can trade $100 for 3.5 to 4 star players.

Also you might think your Drafting Mark Messier but Drafted somebody else.
