What are your KHL plans?

Since there won't be Fictional Leagues ,I will turn the KHL into a 26 team Fictional North American League. So far only 2 Canadian teams are on board,Montreal Voyaguers and Toronto Rifles.

Some regular season games will be played in Europe while there promises too be many neutral site North American games to see what cities would qualify for future KHL expansion teams.

Other teams just announced:
New England Blazers( home base Boston,will play home games in Hartford,CT and Springfield,MASS)
Providence Reds
Boston Braves
Philadelphia Spartans
Pittsburgh Penguins(Pittsburgh Hornets will be in the NHL)
Salt Lake City Golden Eagles
Oakland Seals
San Francisco Spiders
Detroit Cougars
Michigan Stags(Regional team,will play 5 games in Kalamazoo,5 in Grand Rapids and 5 in Toledo,OH)

Unless they change it,Fictional Leagues from the point of starting at zero with no teams won't happen. However you can edit just about anything including the league name,team names,etc. and then it can become fictional.

I want a fully functional Fictional League that already has players so I will use KHL players.

Many threads they have stated no fictional mode at this time. Could it change,sure. Alot of people are crying for it(including me). Bottomline-as long as you can edit everything-that switches it from historical or present day to fictional.

I'm going to add a Sweden (Stockholm), Finland (Helsinki), Czech (Prague), Germany, and possibly a North American team to it if the game allows so. I want to turn the KHL to a European Powerhouse league instead of a glorified AHL. Of course assuming the game allows it.

Yes, there are two leagues similar to the minors for the KHL, however, the teams in the VHL and MHL are not necessarily farm teams of KHL teams.

You mean players who played at least one season in NHL? I don't know but in HC LEV Praha (the only Czech KHL team) there are like 15 such players (3 of them because of lockout - 3 is maximum number of lockout-NHLers any KHL team can sign). It may be above KHL average though.

Each KHL team is encouraged to have a farm team in the VHL/MHL though. And yes the MHL is a junior league.

Counting the 'number of NHL players' in any given league is tricky. What makes them an 'NHL player'? For intance my local team the Manchester Phoenix in the English Premier Ice Hockey League (very low standard, below the Elite league) have a player who's played 22 games in the NHL

An NHL player is a player who appeared in at least one NHL game. Maybe it should be called ex-NHL player.

Hi, can you tell us more about those limitations? I'm looking forward to KHL more than to NHL so I'm very interested in this topic. Plus if you'd need help with the research don't hesitate to contact me. I don't know everything but I can search and learn and I watch HC LEV Praha (at least) very closely.

Mainly it has to do with roster rules, foreigners, required U20 players, etc. I assume. I'm not up on the NHL game rules.

What happens in the KHL if the game(regular season) is in OT and one team pulls there goalie?

The NHL has the stupid rule of awarding a team a point for losing in OT or shootout. That rule originally began in the AHL. When the rule first started,one coach decided that he was going to get a point anyways so he pulled his goalie in OT. Don't know what the end result was but the AHL (and later the NHL) stepped in and changed the rule that should a team in OT(reg. season) pull their goalie and lose then the one point would not be awarded.

Since I'm totally against the awarding of the single point,I'm all for awarding 3 points for regulation win,2 points for overtime or shootout win and one point for OT or shootout loss,if the one point must stay in the rules.

Most NHL games ,both teams go into defensive shells the last 5 minutes in regulation if the game is tied. If teams got three points for a regulation win,the last 5 minutes would be alot more exciting.

Bottomline. Awarding a team a point for losing is wrong. You play too win not too lose and if someone goes home with a point,then everyone is happy. Gives the thrill of victory and agony of defeat an all new meaning.
