Free agents and extensions money

Hi guys, I have bought FHM few days ago. First of all - great game, thanks a lot for it.

However, I can't play the game properly because of an issue regarding team finances.

- When I resign player on my roster (first team, AHL, ECHL), my free agents budget decreases, but the extensions budget remains the same.
This makes the game quite unplayable.

- I played for Ottawa and after season one, I had some left defense and goalie holes in the roster, so I decided to offer sheet Del Zotto, Krug and one dude from Minnesota.
My free agents budget was something around 15 million.
The offer sheets for these 3 guys were something around 13 million, therefore my free agents budget decreased to 2 million (however, the players have not been signed yet).
I wanted to sign one of the defenders and that Minnesota goalie.
Boston and Minnesota matched the offer sheets, so I was only able to bring Del Zotto.
I changed my mind later cause I was not willing to give Rangers so many draft picks, so I withdrew the offer.
The point is - in the end, I did not sign any of the players - all three stayed with their former teams.
However, my free agents budget remained 2 million. That means minus 13 million and 0 new players.
The off-season finished for me because of this.
I am not sure, but I think this has to be some bug, because the budget should not decrease when you don't spend any money in the end.

- The whole game for Ottawa just collapsed after this, because I had no free agents money and therefore, because of the first issue (free agents money for extensions of my own players), I could not even resign guys like Spezza or Anderson. So basically, my team would have been ruined in the beginning of season 3.

And one more time - as I said in the beginning - the overall impression about the game is great, but it would be nice if you could fix these bugs.

I've been waiting for this game-breaking bug to be fixed for a long long time now it seems.

Very frustrating and upsetting.

Apparently there is a mod that you can use to fix it but I personally don't believe I should have to use a mod and edit things to correct something that should work out of the box.

It doesn't make any sense, when I extend contracts it goes straight to my free agents budget and the extension budget isn't even touched.

Apparently the editing/cheat program you need to get around this issue is called "ArtMoney" I havent used it, so personally I cannot endorse it. Download at your own risk!

Does it get rid of the budget functions? or screw with the authenticity of the game?

No risk downloading that program as long as you do it from the right site.you can use cheatengine as well.there are plenty of tutorials on youtube on how to use them

Apparently it edits the numbers on the back end.. If you look through the forum a bit there are a few descriptions on how to do it.

Yeah I just haven't seen anyone from the FHM team endorsing it and I wouldn't download it personally, I just did not want someone to go out and screw something up based on MY advice. Thanks for adding!

i wont post links for the programs here.i don't use artmoney myself i use cheatengine and they can be found if you just google them.but you will need to learn how to use them both before you try anything otherwise you will just CTD the game and have no clue of what you should do

it´s fixed....in my 2 current games i didn´t run into the budget issue anymore

Okay, for me the problem however appeared. :/ Playing with Finnish Liiga and running on the 1.6.19 version.

What exactly are you seeing in your game - is the "Offered Contracts" amount on the financial screen (Team Menu-Team Finances-Available Funds Calculation) showing an amount when you don't actually have any offers open? We ran a large number of simulated seasons with a debugging tool that was specifically designed to detect this problem (and it did, repeatedly, that's why it was delayed a couple of days fixing all the instances we found). But the only problem we ever saw in Finland was a single one with a Mestis team fairly early in the testing, and I know that one was fixed.

Yes. I made a couple of big offers to players that eventually decided to go with NHL teams (wonder why). Now there is $1,9M in "Offered contracts" still like two weeks after they rejected my offers (and the "Contract Offers" section in "Manager Home" is empty). To be more exact I'm playing with Tappara and I'm now at July 17th 2014.

I'm going to go ahead and bump this topic because I am a few seasons into my game as the Minnesota Wild and this is happening a lot. I am well below the cap and cannot sign any players as my "offered contracts" exceeds $30m even though I haven't offered anything to anyone. Very ridiculous.

I thought they had fixed this issue in the last update. (I could be wrong, though. Need confirmation from others.) Are you running 1.6.19?

Seems to be a bug they can't get a full handle on. I used ArtMoney to "cheat" and fix the values. Pretty big pain just to play the game and have it work properly, but I learned to live with it until last patch when it was fixed for me (was playing in KHL).
