Champions Hockey League
Hi.
This year, a new international tournament in Europe will be launched, Champions Hockey League: I really want to see this tournament in new game as well as the old one IIHF Continental Cup. I always want to see international tournaments in games because when you succeed something in your league and get the cup you should promote something bigger I hope you are thinking about adding this already but I would like to discuss it anyway. Thanks. |

I asked Jeff about this when it was brought up on Twitter. He said he'd like to include it, but it's a matter of balancing the programming requirements for it vs. the other things they want to do. So, it's on the to-do list, but when it will show up is up in the air right now.

Yeah. We'll try, but I can't make any promises for now. Multi-league tournaments aren't something that's easy to do in the engine; we've got the Memorial Cup in now, but it's implemented a little awkwardly, and that's about as straightforward as that type of tournament can get - the seasons of all of the participating leagues are, by definition, finished before it starts, so there are no scheduling conflicts.
The Champions League, on the other hand, involves several more leagues and will run during the regular season. With international play being introduced into the next version, there'll already be some scheduling conflict issues we'll have to figure out how to deal with, and adding another complicating factor to that probably isn't a smart idea. So it's fairly unlikely it'll happen in the release version, but we'll see what can be done after that. |
