I'm currently simming to 2035 to see how the game handles a LOOOOONG term game. Anyone interested in the results, players, talent, etc. let me know and I'll try to post them.

So far the sim is only at 2033, so I doubt I'll get to 2035 before I head to bed(it's that sluggish). Good news Leaf fans, the drought ends during the 2030-31 season

James Neal - Played in Pittsburgh until the 2017/18 season posting back-to-back 50 Goal seasons, before a stint with WBS then being traded to Tampa Bay. He stayed there for a year before going to Nashville until the 2024-25 season. He spent half a season with the Rangers and Hartford(AHL). After another year in Hartford he booked to europe to play for HC Slavia Pracha for his last year in pro hockey.

NHL Stats: 1231GP - 575G - 395A - 970PTS

Patric Hornqvist - Had a successful run with Nashville including 3 30+ goal seasons before going to Detroit in 2018/19. His career took a turn for the worst when he only scored 9 goals in 75 games. He had one more year in Detroit scoring only 8 goals in 70 games. He spent 4 seasons with AIK before he retired after the 2023/24 season.

NHL Stats: 795GP - 253G - 205A - 458PTS

David Desharnais - Never really amounted to much in the NHL. He played for Montreal until 2015/16 before being traded to Arizona and then Calgary the next season. He bounced between the NHL and AHL during those two seasons. After 2017 he went on to play with Avangard Omask of the KHL for 5 seasons where he scored 128 points in 223 games.

NHL Stats: 455GP - 75G - 207A - 282PTS

Max Pacioretty - Played in Montreal until 2016/17 before moving to Carolina(2017-19). Boston was his next destination for a season and then five seasons in Minnesota. He became a consistent scoring threat in the NHL, scoring 20+ goals in 9 straight seasons. He went back to Boston for the 2025/26 seasons before he spent two years in Syracuse and Tampa Bay bouncing back and forth. After the 2028 season he spent his next four years bouncing between the AHL and ECHL, playing for San Antonio and Cincinnati.

NHL Stats: 1295GP - 407G - 441A - 848PTS

PK Subban - Played almost his entire career with Montreal becoming a top defenseman in the league. He scored 10+ in 12 out of the 17 seasons including a 25 and 23 seasons in back to back seasons(2016/17 and 2017/18). He went to Chicago for the 2025/26 seasons before retiring with the Lake Erie Monsters in the next season.

NHL Stats: 1174GP - 210G - 514A - 724PTS

Alex Galchenyuk - Played his entire career in Montreal. He scored 20+ goals in 16 of his 18 seasons. Didn't win any of the awards, but he was a key figure in Montreal.

NHL Stats: 1456GP - 490G - 622A - 1112PTS

Brendan Gallagher - Turned into an elite scorer in Montreal posting 35, 46, and 37 goals between 2013 and 2016 before he was traded to Winnipeg in the 2016/17 season. He continued to light goalies up with 7 straight seasons of 20+ goals in Winnipeg. His 2024/25 season was cut short after he ruptured a disc in his back, but he still put up 19 goals. Once fully recovered he continued to score with 33, 34, and 42 goal seasons before being sent down to Rochester for the 2028/29 seasons(Dunno why). He still lit the AHL up with 35 and 46 goals before going to the VHL to play for Lada Togliatti(Russia).

NHL STATS: 1181GP - 516G - 336A - 852PTS

Seems like a lot of players end their careers either overseas or the minors. Hockey isn't really a sport I follow closely so how does that match what happens in the real world?

Very rarely, and it would be exceptionally unusual for a star player to do so

Why not just post the save-game to Rapidshare or Mega so that people can do their own search?

I remember doing a couple of these when the game first came out. It's one of my favorite things to do, tbh. Was just wondering how most of the 2014 draftees came out (i.e. Sam Bennett, Sam Reinhart, Leon Draisaitl, Kasperi Kapanen, etc.)

Well the problem is that there isn't a set save file that I could upload. I only have this save ATM and it pulls up a folder with a saved dat. file that only has 1kb. along with a collection of other DAT Files.

Nail Yakupov - Started off his career with 5-straight 30+ goal seasons(besides the lockout year) with Edmonton and Buffalo before having a down year in Buffalo(2018/19) and being traded to Philadelphia. He enjoyed a lot of success in Philly with two 50 goal seasons and two 40 goal seasons. 2025/26 season saw him head to Boston for two seasons and then a season in Providence(2027/28) before going to Traktor Chelyabinsk(KHL) for his last season
NHL Stats: 1085GP - 544G - 339A - 883PTS

Nazem Kadri - Had a solid career all in Toronto, but injuries really had a factor on his career with only four years where he played 80+ games. He spent the better part of his career with the Leafs before spending the last 3.5 years with the Marlies(and scoring only 35 goals in those seasons). He proved to be a consistent scorer while in his prime as he scored 20+ goals from 2015/16 until the 2022/23 season.
NHL Stats: 926GP - 290G - 448A - 738PTS

Sam Bennett - Drafted by Nashville, currently still an active player under contract with Arizona at the age of 39. Has the most hits in a career with 4463 hits. Six points shy of 1000. If he doesn't retire he'll get to that.(6.0/6.0)

Leon Draisaitl - Drafted by Dallas, still an active player though an UFA. He spent the last three years in the KHL after bouncing between the Dallas Stars and Texas Stars. Put up 760 Points in the NHL, but I don't see him getting signed to a NHL deal(5.0/5.0)

Sam Reinhart - Retired after the 2032/33 season, drafted by Florida. Was named MVP(Hart) and Best defensive forward(Selke) in the 2021/22 season. Joined the Nashville Predators in the 2029/30 season and finished his career out there.
NHL Stats: 1452GP - 517G - 634A - 1151PTS
