Fictional Names

I am wanting to do a fictional league with fictional players. I thought I had located where the files were that the game used to generate the fictional player names, and I edited them to include only the names I want to use. However, when I get into the initial creation draft, it's obvious the names are not being pulled from the file I edited.

How are fictional player names generated in FHM 14? What files (assuming that's the mechanic) does the game use to generate them?

Names.txt and first_names.txt are the files to edit, but if I remember correctly the way fictional names are generated at the start of the game in the current game may bypass the regular process for looking at that file (it's basically just renaming and randomizing existing players). We've rebuilt that process for the next version so it's generating all the players from the ground up, which would use a modified file properly.

when editing a player, can you request a random name, or is that not going to be possible?

Just a button to choose a random name? Yeah, I think that should be possible, I'll see if it can be added.
