3. The only real difference between the regular package and the premium is the player tracker, the mosaic, and the better video bit rate.
There were two packages last year as well. One was the one where you could only watch live steaming games. The other was you had a chance to look at the archives (and thus not watch games live). Did they change this?

hmmm . . . I'm being told that due to broadcast restrictions I can't watch the Boston/Philly game or the Dodgers/Mets games, yet I am getting the Washington/Balt. game nice and clear.

I shouldn't be excluded from either of these games for geographic reasons. My ISP is in Kearney, NE (68845) and my billing info is in Lincoln, NE (68516). So, are these two games being blocked for everyone for some odd reason, or have I run into an error?

Thanks for the info, darkenigma. I think I'm pretty much sold at this point. Now I just need to decide if I should go for a whole season package or just pay month to month. Is the yearly subscription for the basic package only last until November or does it last all the way to February?

Can anyone connect with mosaic right now?

I just bought the premium package, mosaic worked fine for me last year and now it won't connect, gives me an error about being behind a firewall.

I am using a D-Link router.

I tried all their suggestions, even tried different router settings and nothing is working for me.

Is anyone else having this problem? Solution?

I emailed MLB.com but didn't get an answer yet. I'll try phoning them next.

Same problem here. Let us know if you get a response.

Two years ago it ran until Feb. Last year they shut it off at the end of Nov. It looks like Premium runs Mar-Feb but perhaps you should call to verify that.

There is a list of zip codes for each teams market, somewhere in the fine print on the mlb.tv site.

I can see both games in regular but mosaic still doesn't work for me.

No problem with all games in audio.

yeah, but I'm nowhere near these markets -- I'm not officially in anyone's market (except maybe KC, but their TV contract is a mess out here).

A couple days ago, I couldn't get a boston game and today I can. But today I can't get the yankees/phillies. It doesn't make sense and it isn't even consistent.

What makes even less sense is that the promo pages for MLB.TV say that there's no blackouts for spring training.

That hadn't even occured to me.

Frankly, I won't be too mad until I can't see a reg. season cubs game, which there is no reason to think will happen. Right now I'm only annoyed since I just don't understand what the problem is.

edit: I'm gonna shoot 'em an email and see what's up. Though I've heard their customer service is really bad. . .

I haven't heard from them yet. I know last year I tried several times to get hold of them without any luck.

Very independent outfit. Sort of "take it or leave it" attitude.

When I started this thread, I thought it was a definite buy but after seeing some of the problems and looking further into the blackout restrictions, I might just have to get cable again so I can watch my beloved Yankees on YES.

I was gonna get it, but that hole in the budget was eaten up by spending $200 for a vet to tell us our cat was gonna die. C'est la vie. I'll watch the Jays instead of the Cardinals again this year, I guess.
