When I lived in Arizona, we had Comcast cable internet. During ST, they offered MLB.TV free if we upgraded from 768k to 3mb internet, the upgrade was 10 more per month, I slobbered up that offer.

So I got an email from mlb.com entitled "Upgrade MLB.TV Subscription Today!". The email was supposed to contain an image that likely had the info in it but the message shows nothing. Anyone else get this email?

I ordered the premium package, and I actually really enjoy it. Mosaic is good, but I think I enjoy just watching one game at a time. By the way, Mosiac is customizable - you just drag the game you want to any slot.

Yeah, the only reason I would want to upgrade is for the better video quality.

Veeeeery nice. I watched most of the Yankees/Devil Rays game today and it was smooth, sharp quality.

Then I got home and watched the A's/M's, and it decided to keep crapping out and I had to watch most of the game on 400K setting. I think that was just normal flukey MLB.tv stuff, which I'm used to after four seasons.

I am very pleased with it.

Overall, not bad. Especially since I'm on a mac and I heard bad things last year

A couple things to note, is that if you are planning on watching a single game at 1.8 mbs, as advertised, think again. You only get those high speeds when your watching mosaic.
The Player tracker in mosaic didn't work.
They had streaming errors all day.

Even with those problems (which they have claimed they will be fixing) you can't beat being able to watch all of these games.

I just read this somewhere else, is this true?

Quote:
Every time you start watching a new game, you've got to watch a 15-second Right Guard commercial ... the same 15-second Right Guard commercial, every single time
I could understand a commercial once, when you first log on. But every time you change games???

After being completely out of the loop as far as baseball is concerned, I'm pretty satisfied with the basic package so far (just watched the Braves beat the Phillies on Opening Day this morning!) The video quality is fine when I'm viewing full screen as long as I'm viewing from a distance or have my computer hooked up to a television.

Only problem I've been having is when I try to watch a game around 9 or 10 in the evening here (which is 9 or 10 in the morning on the east coast), the audio is fine but the video is often choppy. However, when I watch a game in the morning here, it seems to work just fine. I think it's got something to do with my DSL provider but I don't think calling tech support is gonna get me very far since I don't speak Chinese. I'm just gonna keep monitoring it over the next couple of weeks and if it improves to the point where I can actually watch a game in the evenings, I'll probably upgrade to the premium package.

Folk may be interested to know that there's a five day trial of MLB.TV during April.

I just noticed it. Five days trial. If you email them before the 5 days is up, there's no charge.

Funny how they can have an email to cancel out of the 5-day trial, but cancel an auto renewal (even after you sent an email expressly denying them the right to charge your credit card)? For THAT, you have to call in and wait on hold for 20 minutes, with the option to leave a message every 7 minutes (I'm still waiting for my call back, btw).

They have set new lows for customer service. And everyone who loves the product is fortunate to not have tried to cancel yet.

Now I have 2 weeks of finance charges on my credit card because they ignored my email and essentially illegally charged my credit card. If they don't reimburse me for the finance charges on $100 over 2 weeks (admittedly just a few bucks), I think it's time for me, as an attorney, to make sure I cause their legal staff to waste more than that in time and paper dealing with my claims against them.

Ugh, why can't they just be an honest bunch?

Baseball... it's about playing the same damned annoying commercial over and over and over again.

I thought that could pretty much be inferred from my use of the term "commercial".

Anyone using Windows Media Player 10? I can't for the life of me figure out how to stop it from lagging a ton.
