None of them were competition. Until Wolverine acquired PureSim. Draft Day Sports: Baseball will absolutely be competition. The others mentioned around this site really haven't been.

That's what this entire thread is about.
Draft Day Sports Baseball MAY be competition for OOTP. It is possible. But given Puresim's history, I seriously doubt it.

I actually liked a lot of things about PS 2006, and it's kind of nice that some of the goodness was integrated into OOTP (having a separate "tune file", for example, for those of us who want to get really cheeky with the stats. Some of the things in there like DP frequency would just make the game look even more complicated to the casual user but at the same time I like being able to go in and change things). I expect that with doing this on a full-time basis, Shaun Sullivan will make a game that does an even better job of competing with OOTP, which in turn will make the game that much better.

It is kind of funny, though, that peeps get bent out of shape when they get a link to Google when they ask for the addresses of competing companies. If you're that lazy, I dunno, maybe the Internet is not for you.

Guys, we have no problem with competition at all. At least not as long as OOTP is the best baseball sim on the market

@kckid4u, I don't know what you think that I might have done wrong. I gave you the link to look for the demo. Honestly, I don't really like having links to any other baseball game on this forum. But it's not forbidden to post them. As long as it's not obvious advertising. Actually I think we're very lax when it comes to discussions about competitors. I didn't give you a warning or anything and I (of course!) fully respect that you want to check out the other baseball games, no problem at all. There's just a better place to look for the demo or to ask for it and that's the Puresim web site, which you can find quickly using Google. And when you tried it please come back and let us know what you think about it and what OOTP probably needs to do better.

Competition is always good. It tends to bring out the best in people.

I am sure the newest edition to Wolverine will eventually be a very good game but IMO it takes a long time to get to the point where the finer points(AI, engine) = the features. OOTP seems to be on the brink of getting the finer points close to perfection(DIPS).

Not to change the subject, but Shaun still isn't doing it full-time. At least, that's not the impression I got from Gary.

Yea, not even close to full time. I still have a real job, 4 kids (putting one through College) so, that is merely a dream

Hey out of respect to OOTP I say we move any PureSim conversation to the appropriate forum at PureSim or Wolverine.

Frankly I enjoy and own almost every version of OOTP and the fact that it has done so well actually keeps me going. Same goes for Mogul. The more successful games in the genre the better for all developers in this niche.

For what it's worth, I truly admire and respect both Markus and Andreas. They are obviously super talented and have built the dominant title in the genre. That was not by accident. OOTP is a great game.

I wish the whole team at OOTP best of luck and this year's version looks amazing. I know I'll have my credit card out.

Like many of you other ravenous Baseball fans I have room on my HD for more than one Baseball game, oh and on my 360, my Wii and so on...

I have a Baseball sim addiction that goes back to Earl Weaver!

Regards,
Shaun

Is it any coincidence that both Shaun and Markus are Red Sox fans?

Like I said earlier Gary is a class act and while I'm down on any game that isn't TBCB right now, you'll be a great addition to the Wolverine family.

I find it funny when someone finds it "fun" to practically live their whole life through a game's site forum.
