As long as they make a good product, I will forgive both for their misguided transgressions. Whoever makes the better product will get more of my forgiveness, however.

What I did opening day

Last week I flew up to Boston for the home opener

I was a "bleacher creature" but it was still a blast!

Lowering the banner over the "Monsta"

My buddy Will and I after a few cold frosties

Of course, the Sox won.

I am simming Baseball Mogul 2008, and it is 1952.

Mel Ott just retired with 965 home runs, and over 3300 rbi.

...this was after I turned DOWN singles, doubles, triples, and home runs by a full 5%.

This is a stupidly rediculous game....not even remotely plausible.

Ye gods. No wonder people say BM is bm.

Well, it shouldn't.

I just re-started BM 2008, and Mel Ott is at 4400 hits, and 877 home runs, with 2889 RBI.

He is SIXTH in all time hits.

This game, as a simulation, has more bugs than a sugar cane field. On a one to ten scale, having played OOTP, I give it a 2.

Pretty sure the lovefest is coming from about three posters.

Well, what did you expect? It's a BM, for crying out loud.

TELL me about it!!!

After the first Ott Debacle, I turned down singles, doubles, triples, and homers by a full 5%. This is to prevent 60! players from having a lifetime batting average over .350

Didn't come close to working.

I had one pitcher go, over a three year period, 104-3. One year he was 36-0. Four man rotation.

I enjoy the game, I like the very fast sim, but my mistake is looking at the resultant stats.

Ott had over 500 homers before his 28th birthday.

Apparently the game has bothered you to the point where you have developed a nervous mouse finger.

But yes, stuff like this would "bug" the crap out of me for sure. Terrible.

I think Mogul is geared more towards a younger crowd who just wants to win 100 games every year.

This thread got me to download the BM demo - really do like their in-game interface and the ability to pick where to throw pitch, etc.

However, if the stats are as messed up as is mentioned here, that kinda kills it.
