This game is bull**** easy.

Each free agency period, sign the top three guys...then trade them, along with your fourth and fifth starters for an ace pitcher.

In three years, you have the three best starters in the league, and getting batters is just as easy.

Even limiting trades to just one trade per year, and signing just one free agent a year, I was still winning 120+ games.

Competition?

DDS is a joke. I have the pro basketball and golf games. Just bought them. It's like grade school compared to college. What a joke. It's not to say there isn't room for a lot of improvement with OOTP, but there is no comparison.

I'm not going to discuss if DDS:BB will be better/worse than OOTP as I think are different games, but can you please explain what do you mean when saying that "DDS is a joke"? What did you strongly dislike from the pro basketball and golf games to feel that way? Also if you said that you just bought them today, i wonder how much time did you play them to realize that they are a joke?

Just saying "X is a joke" without any explanation is more acting like a forum troll or a kid than like an adult.

Everybody has an opinion and it's respectable, but you should also show a bit more of respect for other companies making games, unless you had a problem with Wolverine Studios that explains your lack of respect. If that is the case, I would like to know it if possible. You can tell it to me privately if you want and I'll gladly discuss it with you.

I would be interested in his response, if he cares to come back and explain his antipathy to DDS. However, your calling him a troll or kid for expressing a forceful opinion is uncalled for, IMO.

Sorry if it sounded that way, but I don't think i have called him directly anything, please notice i said:

He can always explain himself instead of throwing random offensive comments and then that above phrase won't apply to him at all.

The problem is not expressing an opinion but just writing uncalled, offtopic and offensive comments without reason, as that is by definition acting like a troll in a message board, not that i invented the term or wrote it randomly here.

Well, I can agree there. He ought to elaborate on what was so bad about previous DDS titles that would cause him to say what he did about them.

As far as dismissing the upcoming DDS Baseball game, lumping it in with those previous titles, that does not seem right if that was his intention. I will elaborate on that myself, and thank OOTP for the courtesy of hosting my comment.

Perhaps you can tell how a new game is going to be by how well others under the same label have done but I don't think that's going to be the case here. From what I can gather from earlier in this thread, this Shaun Sullivan is in charge and has the gravitas to get it done the way he wants, regardless of how other Wolverine Studios products were handled.

But I'm telling you what you already know about that, I imagine. It should be interesting to watch. For now, let's see if wiggans will talk a bit more about his complaints.

As a big fan of both companies and owner of pretty much every title in both companies stables....I'd like to point out that OOTP has been worked on a lot longer than any of the games over at Wolverine. They're a younger, newer company. With that said....I'm very impressed with the amount of polish Gary's games have had considering they are mostly 1st and 2nd generation titles.

The fun factor (for me) is pretty close. OOTP is more fleshed out in terms of custimization, in terms of the vast amounts of historical data. OOTP has come a long way since its first and 2nd versions. Wolverines games are in could be compared to the OOTP generation cycle in the following:

DDSPB is basically TPB 3 (TPB 2003, TPB 2005, DDSPB) is the equivilent of OOTP 3.

DDSCB is the sequel to TCB which would be OOTP 2

TPG 2 would also be the equivilent of OOTP 2.

I'm not sure about Puresim/DDSB because I wasn't around for every version of PS. I know its further a long probably in the OOTP 5 or 6 range.

My point is that at this stage of Gary's stable of games....I'm extremely impressed with how polished they are. I find them easy and fun to pick up, addictive...and most importantly....easy to become immerssed into your respective leagues.

To say Wolverine or their stable of games is a joke is insulting and couldn't disagree more. I can't wait till their games are on their ninth generation cycle. Heck who am I kidding....I can't wait for just the next versions.

With that said....the wait for OOTP 9 is killing me.

I'm a big fan of Wolverine and while I only own a handful of his games (I really only play TBCB and on occasion OOTP) I have found them all completely playable right out of the box. Gary is also very responsive to questions or suggestions.

My experience with Wiggans down in TBCB is that he isn't trollish at all so I would like to hear his explanation also, only because I don't think he is like that.
