Believe me, I say whatever I think to people's faces. Funny thing is they tend to laugh since people don't believe "he would really say that if he meant it". Hah! If that's what they want to believe. I'm not laughing or smiling when I say it. Go figure. People will believe a lie long before they believe the truth. Try it. You will find just how much you can say due to people thinking you're joking. You know, Groucho Marx said exactly what he thought too, and look how funny people thought he was. I drive a truck for a living so I go all over the country. If anyone wishes to meet me and see how I am they would be able to verify what I said. The way I see it, whether people like me or dislike me, it will be the REAL me they have those feelings toward, not some act I'm putting on. Last edited by StyxNCa; 04-25-2009 at 04:32 PM. |

well, thankyou for letting us ALL know that!

There are some very opinionated people here, which is fine, but when they start being arrogant and/or ignorant (along with opinionated) it always gets ugly. If doesn't matter if these people are new or old members; they are not respected by others on here or in the real world. And when there are absolutley no consequences for acting this way like there are in the real world, suddenly we get more people acting this way and people get much more tougher all of a sudden. Perhaps some people just vent their anger online because they take so much crap all day. If that's true it doesn't make it right. Styxnca, i don't recall too many of your posts besides this one thread and the "why aren't people my friend" thread you started but from what i can tell from those threads, you are craving attention, positive or negative...mostly negative. To hear that you are are a truck driver comes no surprise to me.

Wasn't my follow up well said? I thought it was one of my best! Be careful how you respond. I may get my feelings hurt and have to report you.
BTW, I don't believe you would have said that in person. Last edited by StyxNCa; 04-25-2009 at 06:32 PM. |

no, probably not. Obnoxious people aren't worth the time. They are not fun to be around either. And for that, they tend to not have many friends so they live a long lonely life...driving trucks.
lol

I'm not lonely. My wife (of 22 years I might add) has been with me since February of last year except for a health matter last month when I had to leave her at home for a while, and it's been a lot of fun. I tell you this though. I may drive a truck, but I don't want to buddy around with most truckers. You wouldn't believe how educationally challenged a vast majority of them are, not to mention racist. That's why I like the forums. The people here actually have brains.

lol...most perhaps do, but from peoples posts they don't show it.
I wasn't saying you were lonely either. It was merely a joke perhaps taken the wrong way. I guess it's another good example of what you said in the first post. Quote:

But in all seriousness, this thread should of been locked along time ago, or at the very least moved to offtopic, along with your other thread. Heck, i don't even know which one this is.

People, we already had the chance to discuss this new rule politely and we couldn't so it was locked. If some of you actually think you should have the right to come into someone else's place and be rude to other guests and expect not to be asked to either be nice or leave then you're clearly missing something. I get it that social customs are difficult to sink in for some people, but you either need to get it or you're going to get cast out of the group just like one would in real life.
Why do we want to look out for newcomers especially? Easy, because if newcomers, lurkers or posters, don't feel welcome then they likely won't stay long and that's simply not good for the community or the company. Just think to yourself: what if Cato or Getch or any the other great modders felt unwelcome and never decided to stick around? We would have lost their contributions to the game and that would have hurt many of us. I don't want to think of the contributions we did miss out on because someone was rude to them. We've all been newcomers here and elsewhere. Maybe some of you are fine with feeling unwelcome and always push through on anyway, but many people are not and don't. Yes, newcomers can be somewhat annoying at times, but I'm sure even vets here come off as annoying when they join other forums just because they don't know all the protocols. Simply put, we need to give newcomers time to learn these protocols and talking bad to or about them does not help. I, for one, feel very strongly about all of this as do many others. If some of you simply can't find it in you to be respectful of newcomers then I suggest you stay away from them like the plague (there are plenty of people here who are very respectful and exceedingly helpful to them so they won't be hurt by the loss of your input) and try not to ever think of them so you don't ever say anything about or to them. If you feel you really must let off some steam about newcomers, use off topic. We have it for a reason. I'm merging these threads and locking it again. If you start another, do it in off topic or I'm going to delete it.
