Status of messages on this forum

When I used MS IE, it was easy to distinguish which threads I had already viewed and those I had not by simply looking at the thread subject because it used underlining and color changes or the like to differentiate. But I recently switched to Firefox. Now with firefox, I can still distinguish the messages under the OOTP 9 forum if I squint and study the colors of the messages (light blue vs. dark blue). But now, in this OOTP X forum, all the message subjects look the same whether I have already viewed them or not.

Can anyone offer a suggestion to help me?

I can't speak to Firefox directly, but I'll say that I almost exclusively use the NewPosts tab to the right of Calendar on the main menu bar, then click the last post arrow in that thread. That thread title becomes greyed out after I've read the new posts in it even after I hit NewPosts again until next session. I'm sure someone who uses your browser will help more, but you may try that option if you haven't used it in the past.

I use firefox. When I go to the forums or refresh them, the ones with new posts since the last time I was on are dark, bold black and very easy to see.

Messages from earlier today that have new posts show up bold for me. But threads several days old all show up the same color whether I've viewed them or not.

I thought I'd bring this up again, in case someone knows how to get what I'm looking for. When I log in for the first time, I get what I want. The new posts (since the last time I've signed in) are highlighted in bold and underlined and there is a blue checkmark box so that I can jump to the first new reply to the post. After I read a post, it is no longer highlighted (so that I know I've read it).

But, unless I read all of the new posts since the last time I've logged in, I do not get what I want. This is because only threads that have been posted since I last logged in are highlighted. What I want is for threads that were posted before the last time I logged in, but which I have not yet viewed, to remain highlighted. Another way to say this is that I would like all posts to be highlighted until I read them (not until I log out).

The reason is that I may go several weeks until I log in. Then in one session I only read a few posts, but will log in a day or so later and want to pick up right where I was, reading the backlog of posts I never got to. I am surprised that noone else sees a problem here.

I have many other forums that do exactly what I want. Only this forum does not.

Another way to state the problem is: Why does the forum treat posts that I have not read in the same way as posts I have read, simply because I have logged in?

And I'm not trying to gripe, just hoping someone knows of a setting or something I can change to get the desired affect.

This post might explain what is going on.
