Back Button annoyance

Seeing if anyone else has had this problem on the site...I try to use my Back button to get me to the last visited page (I am using IE8 btw) and nothing happens. I click the blue button pointing down next to the Back and Forward buttons to see the list of all sites recently visited and every one is a "googlead" site. It usually takes 12-13 hits of the back button to get to the truly last visited page. It doesn't happen all the time, but was wondering if this has been seen by anyone else.

Thanks !

Since it's my work PC, I'll just have to grin and bear it, I suppose.

I forget the correct terminology but that is a rather common issue. It's all dependent on how the webpage is loads to begin with. Some pages will automatically "redirect" you to the page you wish to view, so technically you load one page and then another within mere seconds of each other. Because of how fast the redirecting is, it can be quite troublesome for the back button to work.

To avoid this issue I personally just open links in a new tab, especially if I'm using a search engine.
