Vote for free historical seasons in version 2012
As last year we want to add three historical seasons for free to the App and you can decide which years you would like to see. The only year that is excluded from this vote is last season (2011).
To make your vote just post the three seasons you would like to see in iOOTP Baseball 2012 in this thread.

I'll try to stay away from seasons where one team was dominant; I don't find those as fun to replay. I guess I would choose:
1948: One of the closest AL pennant races ever with Boston, New York, and Cleveland going down to the very last day plus a play-in game. Cleveland of course went on to beat the Spahn and Sain Braves in the World Series. Plenty of stars abound in this classic era - Williams, Dimaggio, Musial, Mize, Robinson... 1967: Kinda the same deal as 1948 except four teams battled for the AL crown. Yaz hit for the triple crown. Cards won a seven game series over the Sox. More stars abound: Aaron, Clemente, Killebrew, Marichal, Gibson, Drysdale, Seaver, Carlton... 1998: OK, this doesn't really qualify for my original premise, but it was still one of the better recent seasons. 1998 Yankees were one of the best teams ever. McGwire and Sosa kept us captivated with the homer chase. The heart of the A-Rod/Jeter/Nomar Era of the Shortstop. Great Braves team that fell short again. A lot of great things happened here. |

How about the seasons I already paid for with 2011--the 15 seasons I paid money for that it looks like you're going to try to soak us again for.
I shouldn't have to repurchase these to use them with 2012. It's not right. |

1901 - Always been a personal favorite.
1924 - Great races in both leagues, and a World Series winner for Washington. 1962 - Think it's a good season that's kind of under-appreciated. |

1924 was a good one for (really) old-timers, 1969 for the "Golden Age" (can the Mets do it again?) and 1995-the year the Braves actually did win it all. Maybe even 1994, the incomplete season.

I'd like to suggest 1995, 1980, and 1972. The game doesn't work well with seasons before the 70s since there's all the financial stuff that you can't turn off.

<hint>finances before the 70s should not influence your choice</hint>

Thank you, sir. It is nice to know a surprise is coming!
So, let me revise my vote! 1980 (my favorite season) 1903 (start early, play forever) 1915 Federal League (you'll never do that one, but it has the best pennant race ever) Last edited by JayWigley; 03-05-2012 at 03:39 PM. |

We agree that you shouldn't have to purchase them again, but we're hamstrung by the limits of iOS development, at least as far as this goes. (I'm not trying to say that iOS is a limited OS.)
In the other thread, Sebastian said that we are looking into solutions to make this happen. And a couple utilities were mentioned that don't require you to jailbreak your device. Personally, I've used PhoneDisk with success and I've never had to jailbreak my device. |

1994-95 Season
I'm new here to this site. Played and thoroughly enjoyed iootp for iPad 2. Formerly a sports talk host in Cleveland as well as South Florida.
1994-95 This is the only season I would want as a freebie. It was the strike shortened season that all of us remember. It had NO ending. No Champ. When the season ended abruptly the Expos had a 6 game lead if I recall. Their lineup was stacked. Pedro Martinez was only 22 and I think they had Randy Johnson as well. If Montreal won the World Series they probably still have a franchise there. Also the Indians were making a case to make the post season. |
