A Glitch, anyone ever get this one?

I started a game when I moved to the screen that shows the pitchers, my pitcher from the previous game was shown as the starter. I assumed I did something as I adjust my rotation from time to based on days off etc. i switch my pitcher, adjust my lineup and off I go. I get to the game screen and the final score from my last game is the current score of the game I was about to play. I went to the top of the 1st losing 8-4. On the bright side I won in 10 innings 11-9 on the downside it seems to have replaced the loss although the stats counted (my starter who got tagged in the 8-4 game still has the loss) has this happened to anyone else?

TL;DR: I lost a pennant because of this bug.

Yes, I've had it happen twice to me so far. The most recent time was when I was in the heat of a pennant race. I had just lost a game 9-8, having gone through a lot of my bullpen. I saved the game and switched apps away from iOOTP. When I re-entered the game later the same day, my previous-game pitcher (who got shelled in the previous game) was the starting pitcher. I thought that I remembered him in the previous game but convinced myself that I was mistaken. When I actually started the game, the score was the 9-8 loss that I had just experienced. I then knew that I was experiencing this bug. I (Toronto) scored one run in the top of the first inning to tie the game at 9-9. I've attached one screenshot to show the line score after half an inning.

The line score showed 5 runs by Toronto in the top of the first inning and 2 by Minnesota in the bottom of the first inning, even though the bottom of the first inning had not been played yet. The line score summary was Toronto 9 runs, 18 hits, 0 errors and Minnesota 9 runs, 11 hits, 2 errors. In reality, my batters had only scored one run (Bonds batting in Fernandez) and Minnesota hadn't come to bat yet.

Soon enough, my pitcher became exhausted even though he had only thrown 49 pitches with a stamina of 18. So, obviously, the previous game existed in some form or another.

I ultimately ended up losing that second game 15-13, not in small part due to my depleted bullpen and exhausted starter. The final line score indicated that the runs in each inning did add up to the final score, even though the initial 9-8 score to start the game wasn't represented in the line score.

When the game was over, I found that I dropped further behind in the standings, as if both losses had counted. There was no record of the first loss in the Schedules and Scores section, though.

Now, this in itself was bad. But, as it turned out, it made the difference in the pennant race.

In the last few days of the season, Boston and I traded first place, one of us always being ahead by half a game. Going into the final day, I was ahead by half a game. There was no game scheduled after that day (I checked). I put everything that I had into winning that last game. I did. Boston also won, putting me ahead of them by half a game. But I had played 163 games (as did Minnesota) because of that extra loss.

At that point, I thought that I was safe, since I was half a game ahead and the x in the standings next to my team indicated that I had clinched the pennant. To my dismay, I then saw a one game playoff game against Boston scheduled for the next day.

Not only did I have my pennant taken away from me, I had to play an unplanned one game playoff on the road (!) against the pitcher with the best ERA in the league! And I had to truck out my #4 starter.

Well, it was a valiant fight. I pulled my starter in the second after they had scored 3 against him but came back to tie it 3 to 3 in the fourth. We went scoreless until Boston's at bats in the 11th, when a single with two out scored a runner from second.

And I was then greeted by "The playoffs are underway! Unfortunately, you did not qualify."

Sob!

So, it is a bug in the program. I've seen it twice (16GB iPhone 4s with iOS 5.1.1). I would have no idea how to reproduce it (although, anecdotally, it appears to happen when the opposing team wins by scoring a lot of runs, using our sample set of 3). But, boy, was this one painful!

(I have many more screenshots than the one I attached here but the posting didn't seem to want to post with them in it. I'd be more than willing to provide the screenshots or discuss whatever I can remember further with the developer if they'd like.)

Happened to me once, too. No idea what triggered it.
