Best "Boomer Wells" Performance
This should be an interesting thread. What has been your best performance with a hangover? If anyone's pitched a perfect game while "half in the bag" a la David Wells, I'd like to hear it. The best I've done is 7 1/3 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 5 K, 0 ER.

worst Boomer game...
Worst Boomer-style game for me:
Second round of the playoffs. I'm the starting pitcher for Game Four, which I lose: 4.2 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 0 BB, 2 K I get wasted that night to bring the mood rating up. However, I time the rest between starts poorly, and my manager decides to start me in Game Seven when I still have a severe hangover. Here's that line: 0.1 IP, 2 H, 9 R, 9 ER, 9 BB, 0 K Needless to say, I lose the game, we lose the series. (Oddly enough, this is the same season in which my pitcher won his seventh Pitcher of the Year award, and also got his 400th career win.) /bc |

2nd year in the "show" and a full-time catcher for Montreal, I had bribed the owner a bit much in an attempt to get out from under my oppressive rookie contract... then went to the game.
Stat line may not be totally impressive, but considering I was more than half in the bag: 0-1, 4BB, 5SB, 3R, 1RBI. And I threw out 2 base runners attempting to steal. Next night I was 0-5 with 4K, though. |

That's awesome. It kinda fits. I picture him with the bat on his shoulder the whole night, then getting a little reckless on the basepaths.
I have an entry for the worse Boomer performance. I got traded to the Angels and was tapped to start opening day, which took me by surprise. It was something like 5 IP, 7 BB, 2 K, 3 H, all (homeruns), 7ER. Eek. |
