how Much are you being Paid

This is an area that doesnt make much sense to me.
I made about 5m after my last season of arbitration and then did not resign with my team cause I felt they were gonna underpay me with their offers. Now at this point I had three consecutive seasons of hitting over 310 and 35-55 homers. So I said to myself I got to be worth at least 10 million. But my team wouldnt offer more then 8m a season. So I went into free agency and couldnt get an offer for more then 9m for five years. Well I took one of the offers and then had four more season of hitting around 310-340 with 38-56 homers. Again my team wouldnt up the dough to resign me with what I wanted. I went to Fa and didnt get an offer for 10 million till the last two days of FA. Im not complaining so dont take this post the wrong way. Im just curious to see if maybe my guy is just not good enough which I cant believe or what. I was a gold glove winner 6 times, have won three world series, two times my team didnt do crap until I got there on the team. I also won mvp twice. Im just curious is this normal with the money or what?

I have been signing 2 year deals worth about 16-17 mil per with Detroit of all teams, they said they couldnt lose me because I am a "hall of fame" type player...

Detroit...go figure

There seems to be a vast difference in what you can get re-signing with your current team vs. free agency, no matter how good you are.
